ulladulla oyster bar

My husband and I had heard many great things about the Oyster Bar so thought we'd make the trip down from Kiama. It was very loud, and the woman at the front was rude and uninviting. The food is overpriced for what it is and the cocktails taste like a child has shaken them (at around $17 each makes it the most expensive in Ulladulla). The oysters were ok but had shell through them and tasted old (we've had McAsh Oysters before and they are wonderful so perhaps it's the way they shuck or store them). They managed to stuff up a Quesadilla- I don't know how. It was dry, overcooked, the onion tasted weeks old and the chicken tasted microwaved. The music was loud and the voice was horrible- having school children play at a venue is all well and good but at an expensive Oyster & Wine bar? The lady that started at 6:30 was ok. If you're looking for overpriced food that tastes reheated, regurgitated cocktails, and unfriendly service, this is the place to go. Otherwise, steer clear- there are many other restaraunts in Milton/ Mollymook area that are much better value and are definitely fresh. I'm not usually this harsh on these sites but I'd hate for someone to make as much effort as we did from Kiama to be disappointed.

We were hungry for seafood on our last night in Ulladulla, and came across the Ulladulla Oyster Bar... what luck!! The service, food and atmosphere were top notch. The oysters and prawns were so delicious, when we'd finished we ordered the same again. The beer and wine list was also impressive. We loved the music and vibe from the staff. Decor could be improved, as could the location, but even we'd go back in a heartbeat.

I visited this little quaint resturant with my partner on the weekend and I must say that the oysters with the fresh dressings were delicious but the squid was horrific to the point that my partner did not eat it and the host when he took the plates asked why so that he could go and speak to the kitchen. He was very gracious and offered us another plate of food but we did not take up the offer. I think that their is potential in what they are doing, after having oysters from a few other places, Bannisters included (I know its not a great comparrison), however I feel that would benefit greatly with sourcing their oysters slightly better as well as ensuring that they are thoroughly cleanned, nothing worse than a bit of grit in your delicious milky oyster party in your mouth. A group of older women were sitting there drinking espresso martinis which they appeared to enjoy. I didnt try but from the sounds they were making (not distracting at all) that it seemed like a specality (perhaphs a potential as a cocktail bar instead).

enjoyed a great night out with live music by Chris. Oysters were yummy followed by bruschetta and salt and pepper squid. Nice place to kick back on a Friday night.

Great place to have a lunch and try out the fabulous Bateman's Bay oysters. And so fresh! Try a nice white wine with them and you have a perfect lunch. The only down side is the fact that the bar is in a little arcade off the Princes highway in the main shopping strip of Ulladulla. Great food could, and should be accompanied by great views which are all around the harbour area, but as food is the major factor here don't let the shop like setting put you off.

The seafood burgers and the oysters were very fresh , will definitely go back there for lunch.Service was quick , what I can see everyone wasenjoying their food .

We went to the oyster bar on a Tuesday deals night. $5.00 beers plus delicious oysters what more could you ask for.

A dozen oysters a glass of wine and a comfy chair what more could you want. The Oysters were shucked to order served on ice with lemon.

Great oysters and prawns washed down with a glass of red wine. They have entertainment which we couldnt stay for as we had dropped the kids off at the funpark. Dont miss this place when in Ulladulla.
