Uralla in New South Wales is an attractive town between Tamworth and Armidale. The main street is the New England Highway and is lined with beautiful old buildings that beg you to stop. There are clean toilet facilities and parks either side of the town, but a stop at the Visitor Information Centre is recommended as it is (seemingly) a newish building staffed with cheerful, informative people (volunteers, probably). The toilets here are spotless. Even if merely passing through, the ladies at the VIC are such it is worth stopping for a chat. Word of warning: The price of fuel was fairly high compared to other places on the highway.

The person on duty tried hard to answer our query, although not sure if he was correct with his instructions as we still couldn't find what we were looking for.A very well presented centre with lovely display of jemstones/rocks as well as a wide variety of pamphlets.

The gentleman at the Visitors Information Centre took the time to find out our interests and the time we had available. We did the historical walk. Would recommend a visit to the Mill what a great place

Located on the right hand side of the New England Highway, approximately half way through town, heading south towards Tamworth. If you have some spare time the lady here, (sorry have forgotten her name), will point you in the right direction. As most visitor centre's, the staff here are excellent value.

Having travelled through from the Hunter Valley we reached Uralla and were looking for something to do for three hours. We were directed to the Info Centre by several helpful people in the main street and were provided a number of places to go and see.The directions were very good, the lady that helped us went out of her way and also made several enquiries for us so that we were not delayed. The service is A Grade and went above and beyond.
