We joined Brendon while his brother was teaching the ' Bush Wacked' crew.We tried to spear fish and crabs in the shallow waters. The scenery is amazing. We went deep into the mangroves to collect periwinkles , oysters the grew on the mangrove stems, mussels and mudcrabs. It's one of those places were you never tend to go.Afterwards back to his place, very hospitable , to show us how to cook all this.Fantastic experience! No seafood platter will ever beat this!!!!!

The brothers give you an amazing nature and cultural experience. Catching crabs, hunting for sea and bush tucker and an inkling into their diverse and complex culture. It's fascinating and challenging. They are natural and fun commentators. Do it!

We went out with Brandon and Linc this morning in a large group. Everyone practised throwing spears on the beach, then we walked through the shallow water collecting cowrie shells, looking out for stingrays and crabs. A few crabs were speared, but this is not the best crab time, which is new and full moon. Then we collected oysters and mussels in the mangroves, learnt about bush food and medicine on the beach, and finally went back to the house where all the collected food was cooked and served to us. Absolutely delicious! Linc demonstrated boomerangs and other cultural artifacts in a fascinating talk .... but the food and teaching from Brandon was tops!

We went in a large group and found only two out of the fourteen were able to hear what was going on as they were at the front. We didn't catch any crabs or fish. Spears were used as walking sticks. The walk was not well timed as it was high tide so we had to wade in mud through the mangroves and it was so muddy we couldn't see anything so we tripped over roots. There were lots of toe and feet cuts and infections that had to be treated the following day. Morning tea was not living up to expectation - water and damper with fish they already had at their house. It was an outrageously expensive tour. Not at all worth the $75/head!

The walker brothers take groups out onto cooya beach spear fishing, crab catching, mussel finding and mangrove hopping. Out kids thought it was awesome. We just loved it. A great experience to get a taste of indigenous culture - and you get to eat the products of your work at the end! Seafood will never be this good again!
