It's been several years since I visited the shopping precinct of Mount Tamborine (now rather overstated as the Gallery Walk). It was a warm March Saturday at midday and you could have fired a cannon through the place...so many terribly average cafes with no-one eating there. And all the great shops now gone. This was a massive let down and you wouldn't waste the petrol getting up the hill...there is almost NOTHING worth seeing...it has all up and gone. The only guy making money is the man printing the "For Lease" signs. What happened?

Wow what fantastic food. Best on the mountain. Have visited several times over the years. The children and myself really enjoyed our meals especially the pies. Great service and atmosphere. The wines are great too!! Will be visiting again soon.

What's not to love... really friendly service from Jules and great food, very family friendly. My fave is the scones. Have been here a few times and always received prompt service and great food.

So, hubby and I wandered into the shop just to look at the wines, have a browse whilst strolling along Gallery walk. The next thing I know the lady behind the counter has swooped on us and is pouring a chocolate port for us to try because I'd mentioned I'd seen it advertised on the board out the front. We try it and I say its nice but I'll have a think about it as we obviously hadn't walked in to buy that. Whilst standing looking at the list of wines the lady engaged us in conversation about what wines we liked, I explained I didn't really have a particular wine I liked and next thing I know she is pouring a sample wine, and then another. At no point did I ask to try any wines or even indicate I was interested in trying any wines. I was trying to politely leave (you know the awkward moment where there is no one else in the shop, and they are waiting for you to buy something but you really aren't interested and are still there because they have been so pushy) and so I said we are having a bit of a wander and we'll have a think and maybe pop back, and she then casually says oh sorry, well I should have mentioned I have to charge you for the wine tasting...... Unless you buy some wine in which case I can deduct the cost of the tasting from the item price..... What?? She wanted to charge us for a "wine tasting" that we didn't even ask for? It was soooo awkward and uncomfortable. I wanted to get angry over the fact we had been conned into this situation. The lady serving needs to learn some communication skills. Could not escape quickly enough.

yummy toasted sandwiches with beautiful views, atmosphere and yummy chips. Not on the cheap side though.

enjoyed sampling the wine and especially the port. interesting building with friendly staff on both the wine and food sides. Food was deli style or hot dishes - typically priced for the area - above average in quality but not outstanding

We ate lunch here on a day trip to Mount Tamborine and what a disappointment. My pumpkin soup was so bland I actually sent it back which is unusual for me. How do you mess up pumpkin soup? I talked to one of the waiting staff who told me I could have a refund if I went over to the til. I waited for her to come over and issue the refund but she seemed to forget about it. Eventually she came over and said I couldn't have a refund (by this time my family were ready to leave) and I had to have something else instead. The food the rest of my family ate was average - the quality certainly didn't match the prices. So overall it wasn't just the food that was disappointing but the way in which my complaint was handled.

A great experience at the winery, tried many samples of wine and some port. The lady who served us was friendly and offered her knowledge on selecting some wine for a gift. We took home a bottle of red Cabernet Merlot.

We had the rare privilege of our 3 daughters joining us for a mothers day lunch. I wish we had chosen one of the other delightful eateries along the walk. The food tasted average and did not reflect the higher than average pricing. Nice staff however. We could have saved $60 plus dollars down the road.

The food was overpriced and the coffee was poor. I was surprised when I was told that there was no drinking water and I would have to buy bottled water as they were on a bore! C'mon, you're a supposed to be a winery! In conclusion, ignore all the tourists eating here making it look decent. Walk on by.

Quite a nice building and the staff were friendly. It's a shame the food here is so ordinary! My partner had the vegetarian tart which looked like a frozen/microwave meal and came with about 5 chips (& cost around $20). I had the roast veg panini, which was was ok. My coffee was one of the worst I've had. There are plenty of other cafes on the Mountain. I would advise skipping this one & trying any of the others.

Must have been a bad day in the kitchen, the chunky steak pie we ordered from the glass hot cabinet was dry, stringy beef & swapped for another kind. They apologised for my French toast when it arrived "the chef said sorry it's a bit burnt" & yes it was. Again we returned it to the counter & replaced, round 2 was much better & presentation was lovely. With so many cafes to choose from I don't think I'd come back to this one!

We had a very poor experience at this 'restaurant'. The menu was overpriced but I felt like a salad so I chose a 'greek' salad which consisted of a few leaves of ice berg lettuce, chunks of tomato, cucumber and feta but no olives. My partner didn't have much luck with his cardboard tasting wrap. It is a real shame this place is located in the centre of gallery walk where it's a tourist trap for visitors and they can get away with serving terrible quality food.

We tasted the wine and then wanted some lunch so wandered next door. I order the pie with mash, gravy and peas. I waited 15mins to receive it (longer than it took for my partner to receive a freshly made hamburger) and when it arrived it was on a tiny coffee plate with a line of green paste (no, thinner than paste), a line of orange paste and a line of gravy. What the hell was this? If I order a pie with mash and peas, I expect an actual scoop of mashed potato and actual peas, not whatever the hell that was. And charging me $15 for the privilege? I don't think so. Go to any other cafe along this strip to avoid the same rip off I experienced.

We spent the day walking the Main Street and did the gallery walk. lots of great boutique shops and very friendly people. Parking was fairly easy to find and coffee was brilliant. We also took a picnic and went to the lookout (10 minutes drive). stop at the roadside stalls for fresh, local, cheap avacados.
