m.v. mikat cruises

We certainly had great great experience for one week trip with m.v.mikat. The itinerary was arranged reasonably. The trip was full of surprise and adventures. We were little bit worried about few days on vessel will be bored but I can tell you now you would not feel enough and feeling want to do it again.We saw lots of whales, dolphins, we fishing in the sea, lots! And the crew are amazing!Would definitely come back again!

We had an enjoyable day on M.V. Mikat. We saw mainly Mum and baby whales which was great. We also some dolphins. Like everyone has said make sure you take jumpers as it was cold. We were very clever and got a seat inside upstairs which gives you protection from the wind and cold while you travel out and back. I thought it was quite crowded as well and the food was okay.

Great tour at a decent price.We saw so many beautiful whales- they were very curious and quite happy to come up just metres from our boat. The tour gave plenty of information about the whales, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside was the food. Everything was fresh and tasted fine, but nothing was very exciting. Definitely bring your coat and be wary that although the Bay is very sheltered by Fraser Island, it did become quite choppy and some poor people weren't very well. There's a chemist at the terminal so we would recommend taking some tablets for sea sickness, just in case. Enjoy your tour!

We went out on the M.V. Mikat today and over the course of our trip we must have seen in the region of about 20 whales ... many of them very close to the boat. As a bonus we also saw a turtle plus a group of dolphins.Everything went as planned with the trip. We were picked up just after 8, set sail at 9 and were back just after 2. Great commentary along the way with loads of information about the whales. Very educational crew to compliment the wow factor of the whales. Breaching, pectoral slapping, tail slapping, etc. They put on quite a performance.The only negatives from the trip were that the boat seemed quite full so it wasn't always easy to move around. Also the food was only ok. We have had better buffets on all the other trips we have done so far in Aus.Overall a brilliant experience and if you're in Hervey Bay over the next few months then the whales are not to be missed.Oh ... and word of warning. The waters can be a bit choppy so save yourself reaching for the sick bag by maybe taking a travel sickness tablet. Also bring warm clothes. It can get quite chilly out on deck!!
