live in Bris but thought i would take this tour, paid and given a free hat \.The trip was just up the bris river from south bank and to breakfast creek, time was and hour and a half, starting at 10,30am the monologue was a little informative but boringWe were given coffee and scones with jam and cream which was a little dry and at the end first leg we picked up other passengers so got the same boring monologue on the way back I almost went to sleepPaid for the trip but you can get the same on the red hopper ferry for free ,this is without the trimmings eg.tour talk and scones or the Gov ferry for a small priceNot worth the money and the time although it was a fairly pleasant day out on the river

Went on the Sunset Cruise in September 2013 and had such a good time I did it again in November 2014.Glen and Allison provide a fantastic cruise that goes for approximately two hours. There is very informative commentary but it does not go for the whole time so there is plenty of time to chat with your companion/s and the other people on board. Once again we did not see any crocs, but there was plenty of birdlife to be seen and the refreshments (beer, wine, soft drink, water, prawns, cheese and dip platters and lollies) were plentiful, despite the cruise being fully booked. There are few better places to watch the sunset than in the Gulf of Carpentaria and if you are in Karumba, Karumba Point or even Normanton, it is well worth taking this cruise.

amazing couple who have worked hard to create a friendly but professional sunset tour. the prawns and nibbles were great and the commentary was witty and informational.

Went on the Cruise on the 27th July.....I would recommend this cruise to anyone....You get an informative description of the area and they point out any wild life along the way then you get to sip on a drink or two and watch the incredible sunset...You haven't been to Karumba unless you do a Ferryman Cruise.By the way.....EXCELLENT value for money

Glen and Allison did a great job in finding all of the local species amongst the mangroves. A pleasant morning on the Norman River.

I have travelled extensively in Queensland for work, including the Gulf. On this occasion I had the chance to travel with colleagues (friends) from Brisbane and another more local colleague. My Southern friends had never been to the Gulf, or Far North Qld, so we needed to squeeze in some sight seeing while there. This is an amazing part of the world. To introduce them to the area we organised the 2 hour croc spotting and sunset cruise on the Norman River with The Ferryman River Cruises gang. Great choice!Allison & Glenn (our hosts) are the epitome of what is great about remote area people. Really friendly, accommodating, laid back and proud of their community. Not to mention knowledgeable about local history, current activity and the plentiful wildlife (stunning birds everywhere). As it turned out we were the only guests on the cruise, so travelled on what I suspect was the smallest of their vessels. Very basic, but enough room to be comfortable and to hold a stash of nibbles (local prawns and a fruit platter) as well as wine and beer (all included in the price). The intimate group meant that it didn't take long for it to feel that Allison and Glenn were just another couple of our mates zipping around the Norman River! So we didn't spot any big crocs (don't think the Southerners were disappointed), but Glenn's amazing "eagle" eyes did spot a couple of juveniles which allowed us to get the required photos of the local predators. Wildlife spotting is always going to be "hit and miss", and I reckon if there is a croc to be spotted, Glenn will find it. I don't know how he did it, but Glenn also managed to spot a couple of beautiful Mangrove Snakes resting on the river bank while we were powering along- amazing.Karumba is a great place to visit and the Ferryman River Cruises are a dang good way to learn about the area and wildlife. Oh, did I mention the sunset.... The usual thing to do when in town is to enjoy a meal and beverage at the Sunset Tavern while watching the stunning sunset (have done it- recommended), however, experiencing it while cruising the river is just as good, and maybe better :-) You just have to have at least two nights in Karumba, simple! As far as price goes, I don't know how these guys run this for the price they charge! very reasonable considering the incredible overhead costs in remote Australia! Thanks Allison and Glenn, we had a ball and can't wait to catch up next time I'm in Karumba :-) Soon I hope.

Went on the Sunset Cruise and had a really good time. The tour started at 5:00pm at the Karumba boat ramp and we began by traveling along the Karumba coastline. A very informative commentary was provided regarding the boats/ships on the water, the wreckages on the coast and the mine. Once the coastline became just plants, we had a number of birds and plants pointed out. The boat then turned around and we slowly went past an island where crocodiles can be found. Sadly we did not see any (well we saw a nose for about 3 seconds in the water, not sure if that counts), but we saw several of their tracks. The boat then made its way towards the open water of the Gulf down at Karumba point where we stayed and observed a beautiful sunset.Whilst on board, we were served a cheese and vegetable platter, fruit platter and freshly caught prawns. There was also beer, wine, soft drink and water. The commentary was good and informative. It also only went for about a third of the trip so there was plenty of time to talk among yourselves, to meet the other people on board and talk to the hosts. The tour lasted the whole two hours and for $45 it was well worth it. I'd defiantly do it again and highly recommend it!

We had a great time on the sunset cruise. Woman commentator somewhat grating and loud but husband was very informative and knew his stuff. Seafood and drinks were great Sights were excellent, culminating in the sunset over the Gulf
