Keiramoo
A few family and friends went on a barra charter with Darren's to Corroboree Billabong. They picked us up from our hotel at 5am and we were on the water a bit before 7am. Not for want of trying, we unfortunately didn't catch one on the day. That's life, neither did anyone else on the water that day - a poor wet season has made barramundi fishing difficult across the top end. Simon, our guide, took us to numerous spots throughout the billabong and Mary River, trying different tactics and showing a bit of the wildlife along the way. Even though the single day was a brief experience with these guys, you can tell they are a professional outfit. Top notch boats, awesome fish finders, great fishing gear and knowledge, they'll do everything in their power to get you hooked on to a big barra. In the end, we caught a few saratoga, a few tarpon and a catfish. Yes, the catch was slim and hard going, but 'tis the season that did it. Full credit to Darren's Barra safaris.
