tchum lake

Birchip is in the grip of a drought, so Tchum Lake is an oasis with green lawns, plenty of shelter and excellent facilities for camping, caravanning and BBQ-ing. The lake is excellent for water skiing, windsurfing and swimming. The water is clean but cloudy. the township is about 7k from the lake, has an excellent bakery (forget the diet and try the vanilla slice..yum!) and two good pubs (The Birchip Hotel at the big intersection serves excellent counter-meals, and is owned by a former AFL star)
