Absolutely loved our tour of the caves we had on Saturday, there was literally just myself and my partner on the tour, so it was like our own personal experience, they only need a minimum of 2 people to have a tour which was good for us. They run ever hour 1.30 ,2.30 etc last one being at 4.30 which was the one we went on.Out tour guide was a young girl, but she was very knowledgeable and answered every question I asked, she was very friendly never rushed me when I was taking heaps of pictures. For a small cave there is so much to see and admire, it really is such a fascinating place and to understand how the formations were made over how many years.It cost us $17.50 per adult, and I was quite happy with that, I don't think it was too expensive, the tour lasts 30-45 minutes. Maybe I might not have enjoyed this as much if it was a larger group, but my experience was brilliant. I would definitely recommend a visit here, for 45 minutes of your day you will not be disappointed.

The cave has a narrow shape along a fault line and is full of interesting cave structures, It has well maintained access and not a big descent (read: climb on return).The guide was good and made this very interesting. You don't need to climb and walk for long distances with this cave

We actually decided to do a trip from Melbourne just to have a look at these caves and my kids were not disappointed. The tour guide was really informative and had the patience of a saint since my kids were the only kids on the tour and asked her a billion questions. She took the time to answer each and every one of them and was able to make jokes and interact really well with them. That said, it didn't slow down the tour and she was still able to find time to talk to everyone and explain everything thoroughly. The caves themselves are breathtaking. I will admit that I expected the cave walk to be further into the caves than it was was, but it made it none the less worthily.

Looking for something to do on a rainy day in Mount Gambier I saw the name on the map so off we went to the caves. It was well worth it. The Guide was knowledgable and the cave holds many unique and interesting features. If you like geology, geography or even history you'll get something out of this. Note there are 65 steps down to the cave, and then back up, and no alternative. There is an arm rail but if you can't do stairs this visit won't work for you.

Quite a drive out to the caves but well worth the effort. We had the tour guide to ourselves so maybe got a bit of an extended talk but she was awesome and certainly knew her subject. Spectacular site and very interesting.

WOW After walking down 68 steps you are in an awesome space. There are plenty of stelamites and stelatites to look at in all different shapes and sizes as well as colours. The tour was very informative and well worth the time.

We took our 6 and 3 year olds to see this. I was also 6 months pregnant and the cave was easy going and not strenuous. Easy steps down (68) with a handrail. The formations are gorgeous and worth seeing. My 6 year old was enthralled but my 3 year old got bored pretty quickly. The young tour guide spoke quickly and it was very apparent that she was saying the same thing she says 5 times a day with no feeling. I imagine it's difficult to sound enthusiastic each and every time, but it was quite annoying. However, do not let that deter you! This cave is gorgeous and great introduction to caves for younger family members. A couple of good walking tracks in the surrounding national park with gorgeous views of the Glenelg river too. We chose to stay in Portland 90 mins away instead of in the basic cabins and the drive in was nice too. Beautiful part if the country.

Being so close to Mt Gambier where we were staying I took the wife for a look. My folks used to bring us here as kids and now it is my duty to show my wife all the things my father showed us. If you want to do a lot of sightseeing in a day and include some caves then this is it. It is the prettiest in the nearest vicinity and as the tour is not too long you get to do more looking around at other sites. The tour guide was well informed and friendly. The price is worth the visit. The staff were all very friendly and easy to chat to and although not a huge cave is abundant with all the good things caves are meant to have. Nice surround park land and campsites. GPS played up trying to find this place and didn't take us all the way. Signs could use updating but at least it was a fun trip.

during the tour there was just me and my 2 friends- we all get the same impresion - young tour guide was weary and was talking like automat. Shame- because it look like we were close age - instead making tour more interesting, friendly in the and we felt like 'done & dusted'.Small Cave but worth to see!

Whilst touring the Great Ocean Road, it worth taking time out and making a detour to visit these wonderful caves located in the middle of Lower Glenelg National Park. These caves are often referred as 'the jewel in the crown' of the National Park. There are a number of steps down to the cave floor level, and may be a challenging if you have difficulty in walking or managing steps, but really worth the effort. The guide is very knowledgeable and interesting and clearly enjoys explaining the detail. You are permitted to take photographs within the caves.There are time slots for the guided tour, and whilst waiting, it’s worth a walk in the Park or enjoy the beautiful scenery down by the river. I’m glad we made the effort to view these caves.

A little off the beaten track, but well worth it. The caves themselves are fantastic and the guide was really entertaining and informative. Well worth the price of $17.50 each. The tour is not very long but the caves themselves make up for it as they are magnificent.

Tours of the caves leave from the visitors centre. The tour guides are informative and entertaining send speak very clearly. It's a great tour for young kids as they get to go up the front and are shown many features of the cave. It is exciting being shown all the cave formations and being told how the cave was found. After the tour you can go on a very short walk to see the original cave entrance and a tree that has it's roots in the cave. The caves are fascinating and worth a visit!
