Because the river was quite high, I chose to go the 'long way' to the start, by road, but this only adds on 25 minutes from the hostel or other central places in Port Campbell. (Or you can drive to one of the carparks at either end). If, like me, you are worried about heights and therefore are not sure if you will cope, when walk descriptions involve 'clifftops', rest assured, it is not at all vertiginous. The coastal views are gorgeous and the bush is lovely too. My only complaint (not reallly!) is that it is too short!!! There are a couple of benches along the way to rest and absorb the views. Make the time to do it, even if you are just passing through Port Campbell, and definitely if you are staying there.

Further to Mark's review: you can easily access the town end entrance to the walk from a small car park overlooking Port Campbell. A very short walk on a well formed trail and down a short series of steps and you're onto the Discovery Walk. Then... enjoy the views - particularly east, along the coastline to the 12 Apostels. If you get as far as the western end of the walk (a 2km jaunt along the trail) you'll meet up with what the locals call the 'Two Mile tear drop' car park. So called 'cause it provides a limited amount of car parking for visitors to Two Mile bay (which is, in itself, an entire other world). I walk the Discovery around 3 or 4 times each week, from the Port Campbell Hostel, and by accessing the walk from Port Campbell's beach. From the hostel it's almost exactly a 5km return trip, taking me <50 minutes (tho' I'm not stopping to enjoy the views.) I'd suggest you could easily do the out-and-return walk, leaving from wherever your base is in Port Campbell, in under 90 minutes. It's a great way of filling your lungs with some really fresh sea air and does offer some truly spectacular views of the coast.

This 4km return walk can be accessed from the beach at Port Campbell and from the scenic lookout 1.5km west of town on the Great Ocean Walk. Be mindful of tide times if crossing the mouth of Campbells Creek to access the walk (particularly during winter and in big seas.) Tide times and friendly advice are available from the Visitor Information Centre in Port Campbell.

Лучшая прогулка на краю земли. Край местами заканчивается обрывом %)Обязательно сходите к 12 аппостолам и по тропинкам к Loch ard gorge.
