Always something worthwhile seeing there. Aboriginal art and teachers and students art was on display that day.

Nestled near the river, adjacent to a lovely cafe I was delighted to find this small but very well maintained contemporary gallery. Great mix of their own collection and visiting show. Gold coin donation so very affordable! Well worth a visit.

"I must say, there's a lot to recommend Swan Hill in the Winter," Soph commented as we walked a few blocks to the shops."Look at that sky - crystal clear blue, brilliant sunshine, a few fluffy clouds now and again... what more could we want," she said. And Soph's right. Warm, clear days, with cold nights, never-ending sunshine, total lack of stress and strains as you unwind, restaurants that are ok, attractions like Lake Boga Catelina Museum, the Art Gallery and adjacent Pioneer Settlement all combine to make for a very pleasant time in Swan Hill in Winter. If it wasn't my home town, I'd be keen to give it a try for the warm sun, singing birds and total lack of stress.

Not the biggest art gallery around, but dont let that put you off, its by gold coin donation so wont break the bank or take up half your holiday. With galleries like this youre at the mercy of the curators who have selected the works, but when we visited it was superbly done and we can only hope thats the norm.Go here.

Small but very interesting. Exhibits change often and are excellent. Entry is donation only and the ladies at the desk are very helpful. Well worth a visit.

There was a photographic exhibition on display when we visited. It was well presented, diverse and insightful. The Gallery is centrally situated and, though small, is worth a visit when stopping in Swan Hill.
