Great range of well prepared and served food. Very welcoming staff and publicans made the Yakendandah Hotel a highly recommended stop. Beautifully re-decorated dining room, outdoor garden and welcoming front bar. A great find!

Wrong section. Meurant's Restaurant in the Yackandandah Hotel is one of the more pleasant places I have eaten in a long time. Not pretentious, simply comfortable and very well prepared food with a wide range of drinks (including local wines) to accompany dishes and to accommodate most tastes. The relatively new operators have made a big effort to revive the dining room tastefully. It offers a good range of options (including vegetarian) on the menu and Wednesday night is $10 pasta evening with a selection of four to choose from. But don't be fooled, the meat choices are excellent and that old stand-by "bangers and mash" is outstanding because the bangers are genuine gourmet offerings with a well-prepared (not over-cooked) and presented vegetable accompaniment to complement the "mash". Service was knowledgeable, amiable and quick from Mum, Dad and daughter. And the chocolate cake dessert was exquisite. I was lucky to rescue my share from my wife who "didn't want one but thought she might try a bit".

Stopped at the pub on a trip around the north-east. Fire was burning, publican made us very welcome. friendly man, ready for a chat. gave us some local information on the area and ready to answer our questions. Didn't eat in the dining room, but the menu looked inviting. Not overly priced as you find in some places. Take some time to stroll around the town.

We went for lunch at the Yackandandah Hotel, [also known as the "Bottom Pub" being at the end of the town], on the recommendation of friends and we were not dissapointed. Mick the publican is an excellent "mine host" very attentive and making you very welcome. The lunch menu isn't huge but there are plenty of choices, ie chicken, fish, burgers, foccacia etc, prices ranging from $16 - $18. Our meals were served very promtly and were delicious. We sat outside which was very pleasant, background music playing at a level that did not intrude into your conversation. We will definately be back. Highly recommended.

This was the most welcoming and hospitable pub we have been in for years. We originall walked into the bar and were greeted by someone (having a drink) asking if we wanterd the dining room. We thought at first he was a customer but later on realised it was Mick and he owned the pub.He himself has a great country charm and with the lovely decor in the dining room we felt like we were at home. The meals were very good and even though the menu was quite small there was enough to suit our tastes. Cant wait to be back in the area so we can drop in and have another meal and drink at the Yackandandah Hotel. Oh, don't be put off by the outside appearance.

We stopped on recommendation from a friend and couldn't have walked into a friendlier hotel. The publican, Mick, was fantastic it was like drinking at the local at home with everyone who came to the bar willing to get in on the conversation. If you're in the area call in and say g'day. And check out the Stone Bridge! !!
