This is a great way to start off your Bendigo experience. We spent half the day with getting on and off the tram. Did the tour of the workshop as well. It is a fasinating place. Great to see the old trams being bought back to life. You can park near the station and do the CBD using the tram. The ticket we purchased allows for 2 days travel so may do a bit more tomorrow.

I stopped by the station however didn't get to ride this trip. However I have on a previous trip and if you have the time it is a great way to tour the town.

We had the pleasure of staying in Bendigo for a lazy Saturday getaway from Melbourne. We had tickets for the talking tram as part of our pass from the Deborah Gold Mine. The tram was surprisingly comfortable compared to the Metro trams in Melbourne. We even managed to secure a ride on the Schaller Tram, which was decked out like you wouldn't believe - comfy sofa, original artwork, paint brushes, pots and spatter everywhere. We loved it!

Fabulous place to go. Especially for the history buff, and see and learn all about the trams from Bendigo's past, and present!

I combined the talking tram tour and tram depot and workshop tour. The tram ride is a lovely relaxed way to get an introduction to Bendigo. The on-board recorded commentary is very informative and, on my trip at least, this was augmented by further information given by the driver. There are several trams of different styles and decoration, which is interesting in itself. By doing the depot tour one can see the many types of trams, some restored and updated, others in their more original guise. You can see some in the poor decayed state and marvel at the skill and dedication of the workshop people at how they work to transform these into the beautiful restored vehicles in the depot and on the street.

This would have to be the best way to see Bendigo and it's historical sights. With the running commentary it makes for a very pleasant tour and you are at liberty to get off and on at your leisure.

My partner and I had already been in Bendigo for a day or so by the time we did the Talking Tram Tour, so we had already traversed a fair bit of the route but bumping along at a calmer pace with the tram offering the commentary and history along the way was a nice way to see the town. We got off at the tram depot briefly and checked out the trams waiting in the workshop, and the souvenir shop but didn't do the workshop tour. We continued past the lake and to the end of the track at the Joss House Temple. We were in Bendigo during a bit of a heat wave so the guided Joss House Temple tour by the volunteer was both heady with incense and so stuffy as the temple has no vents are air flow. Intersting to see none the less, though it's only an extra $3.50/adult on top of your tram ticket, so not too out of pocket. The tram conductors we had were both fantastic and happy to answer any questions.Definately an experience unique to Bendigo, that is unless you frequent the City Circle Trams in Melbourne.

A great trip to do as an introduction to Bendigo. The stories are interesting and give insight into the history of Bendigo. Great that it is a 'Hop on hop off' system so you can park at the gold mine and use the tram to explore the city for the day. friendly drivers also. The trams themselves are beautifully restored and looked after.

In any city hop on hop off bus is always an attraction. The tram in bendigo is a highlight. An 800 metre plus walk from the railway station the whole ride is about 1 hour with stops at various attractions. We just went on a there and back. The commentary from the conductor is worth the trip alone.

This was a great way to get all the history of Bendigo. The talking ram is great. And the Conductor Peter was fabulous. In fact the driver and Peter was the icing on the cake for this ride. We didn't have much time in Bendigo and I wished we had more time in to get on and off the tram and see all the attractions this place has to offer. This is a must to do if you are visiting Bendigo.

Love riding on the tram, always a good way to see Bendigo and being able to get on and off and explore the attractions along the way! You need to do a tram tour at least once to tick it off your done list!

We didn't have much time in Bendigo so the trip on the tram was a good way to see the city and find out about its history. It is not cheap but by combining the ticket with other attractions it is not too bad. We were glad we did it.

We started the day at the tram museum we went on a tour and our guide Emily was very informative, I am glad we did the tour. We then hopped on the talking tram, and got to hear and see about the sites in Bendigo, the driver and conductor were also very helpful and cheerie. The stops along the way are well set out and you can always find a coffee shop near by. Well worth the experience. The conductor also gave some good tips where to eat
