i traveled all the way from n.s.w. to view this exhibit and found that the place was closed 2 hours early then didn't bother opening the next day. I was very very disappointed, if you want to go and see it don't bother they probably wont be there.

compact but with so much history of the car. It was great to see from the many photos and posters how the town had developed along with the cars on show well worth a visit.

This museum is one for motoring buffs only. There are several very old "horseless carriages", unusual models like a three wheeled Morgan, classic cars like the Cadillac and Mustang, some early English sports cars, and a few different types of racers and early motorcycles. There is also an extensive collection of models, signage, badges, and accessories. The collection is let down by being housed in a very old building with poor lighting and many of the exhibits are covered in dust and grime. A good clean up is needed.$9.00 entry fee. Self guided.

A very good collection of motor cars, bikes and accessories which all will enjoy. It could do with a bit of a spruce up but is nevertheless well worth a visit.

We were pleasantly surprised to see the range of cars, etc at the motor museum. There were also other collections on show. Unfortunately, some were left a little dilapidated.

The York Motor Museum is very much a "One Man Band" but well worth the visit and a chat with Peter Briggs. Without today's technology you only have to admire the skill of the earlier engineers and craftsmen. how some of those vehicles achieved what the did is mind boggling. A must visit for car buffs and historians.

This was interesting but I didn't think it was worth $9.00. I probably would have been happy paying $5.00 each. However they had some interesting cars and bikes.

Pete Briggs has a great collection of cars and bikes here. I have been here 4 times now and the exhibition is worth the visit. Get chatting to him and he will talk all day, if you want!! He's seen it and done it

We went there today 21-2-14 when it was "open" BUT it wasn't open! It's supposed to be open till 3pm in the summertime. We got there at 1.55 and waited for 30 minutes. The sign said closed and there was a small slip of paper saying "gone for parts". We gave up waiting and quickly looked at other places. We drove past at 3.05. As expected, it was closed BUT the small sticker was still there too. Waste of our 4 hour trip from Perth and back again....

There are some interesting quirky places to visit in York one of which is the Motor Museum. In keeping with the rest of the town atmosphere the collection is housed in an old building in the main street. There are exhibits from early Australian automobiles as well as a Model T; a range of children's pedal cars and quite a collection of toy cars. Unfortunately the collection is looking tired. Probably due to the lack of maintenance on the building itself. For the entry price, I would have expected a better maintained collection. (Was the old Volvo part of the exhibits, or is it the attendants usual vehicle parked out of the weather? after all, it still had legitimate number plates and was full of detritus.)

York is a nice but sleepy town, for a tourist there isn't to much to see or doThe motor museum was interesting, some great classics were on display. I think the museum has seen better days though, is a little untidy and the building is not in the best shape. I also found it odd that they had 80s volvos on display...along with corollas.. I think they are scrapping the bottom of the barrel. However I can't complain with the $9 entry fee, but would like to see more cars.

If you passing through Perth or even a local, you should take the time to visit this fine collection. You might figure you have seen plenty of old cars and why go 100km out of Perth just to see these. Well the drive out to Yok in itself is worthwhile and when you get there you can pull up at number of lovely cafe's before wandering across the road to soak up the sights and smells of yesteryear motoring. On that front you wont be disappointed either. Not only will your jaw drop at some of the old girls hiding in the far corners of his collection but if you look closely at some of the exhibit you will spot some rare pieces of motoring history from the rare Mazda sports car, the gas turbine go kart and even some very special local history with the Sarich Rotary on display. Now ok - I do love cars and all thing mechanical so I do get a buzz when is see these places but I do think even the non-buff will enjoy this place.
