Apparently the original collector is still alive and the museum is a testament to his dedication in keeping such artefacts for future generations. It is a great shame that this wonderful collection is now being left to collect dust and seems very uncared for. There is a wonderful set of cars and farm vehicles plus a selection agricultural equipment, domestic items and a bit of geology. Because of the state I would say that $6 per head is a bit steep especially for a family. As for the café! This was the worst cup of coffee I have had in my life! It tasted like instant coffee with hot milk foam squirted on top, and at Perth prices, this was unacceptable. In addition, the chef and waitress did not seem worried about displaying their indifferences to their customers. If the coffee was terrible what would a more expensive snack tasted like? If you have kids I would spend my time with them on a beach, but if its raining then this is the only place in Bremer bay to keep them entertained.

The vintage cars are a must see as well as restored old settlers buildings. If you are lucky you may even meet the owner who's pioneering family settled the area.

Lovely museum which is a treasure trove full if amazing items but no clarity about their relevance. It was like walking into someone's shed years after they had stored away thousands of items that represent lifestyles through the decades - photos, money, vintage cars, clothing, gramophones, tools..... but staff were horrible - snapping at us as we walked around and as for trying to order food/coffee...seriously, just don't bother. Service was appalling - they seemed angry we were even trying to spend money with them, annoyed at us for wanting to use eftpos (they do take it but they will only accept it for the cafe, not for museum entry!!) and the coffee, when it finally arrived.... was dishwater. We decided not to risk asking about food.

This place gives you a very good idea of the history of the area, how rural life used to be and how determined, innovative and multiskilled our forebears were. Wonderful collection of tools, tractors and agricultural machinery. Old tack, kitchen equipment, medical equipment, guns, dresses and so much more. The host was informative helpful and very approachable. My 13yo daughter loved the experience and we have been back two more times. So much to see.

We called in to have lunch at the Wellstead Cafe Restaurant and discovered there is a museum on site. This is a treasure trove of experiences and collectibles all accumulated by the Wellstead family who have lived on the same homestead since 1850. Whatever your interest there is bound to be something here to fascinate you; family heirlooms, coaches, wagons, vintage cars and motor bikes, engines, tractors, early pioneering and agricultural equipment can all be found in the many outbuildings. Then there is inside where there is a huge variety of collectibles; sewing machines, jars, furniture, musical equipment, pots and pans, jewelry, books, maps, postcards, guns and rifles, memorabilia from the last 160 years,
