Visiting the Jardin Botanico del Pacifico was one the the best experiences I had in Colombia. It is situated on an absolutely beautiful, almost completely secluded beach. You will have it virtually to yourself, with only the occasional local walking by. Once in the Jardin, you can enjoy some of the best food I've ever had in my life, in addition to fresh juices. The food is seriously amazing, worth the trip from Bahia Solano by itself. There are also clean, spacious, rustic, but very nice cabanas offered for accommodations. Finally, the staff offers a number of different tours of their private nature preserve, which are incredibly interesting and informative. They offer several tours of varying length from 2-8 hours, and they are incredibly well versed in the area's ecology. I'm generally not a big fan of interpretive tours, but these are well worth it. The staff speaks fluent English and Spanish. I would recommend staying for two nights and taking a couple of the tours. It is possible to go for the day, but hiring a motorboat while staying in Bahia Solano would cost the roughly the same amount of money, and this is a much nicer place to stay than anything in Bahia Solano (they will pick you up in Bahia Solano for free provided you stay a few nights). It is technically possible to walk here, but you need to do so at low tide so it's not possible to walk both there and back and do anything other than eating a quick meal. Also, walking here requires either swimming around a rocky outcropping, or picking your way carefully through it, which not everyone will be able to do. Though I went solo, this would be the perfect romantic getaway.
