American's love their Rock & Roll and ... apparently so do Colombian's! My wife and I visited Santa Marta, Colombia in 2012 and the trip planted a "seed". Here we are a year later, in semi-retirement, living in Santa Marta. I'm an amateur bass player. I've been playing since I was 19 but long abandoned the dream of Rock "Stardom" when our garage band's big break (We were actually booked for an outdoor concert with the J. Geils band) got rained out. The enjoyment of playing however never went away and one of my main goals in Santa Marta was to find some musicians, maybe Americans and play on. I needed to find where the "action" was and within a few weeks, we discovered "Crab's Bar". Although owned by two Colombians, Crab's Bar captures the decor, the spirit and the music that you'd expect if you walked into a good "Rock" club in the U.S. First, you’re greeted by a smile and a handshake from Oscar, one of the owners in his ponytail and Rock and Roll T-Shirt. This made me want to go back to my "roots", ponytail and all (unfortunately, a concept my wife will not embrace). Carolina, Oscar’s better half, takes the duty at the bar with a smile and a frosty cold beer or cocktail. (A cold, frosty domestic beer is just $2.30 in a bottle) Certainly, everyone speaks Spanish in Santa Marta and it's easy to feel "excluded" if you don't, but ... Oscar and Carolina speak just enough English to make you feel welcome and the atmosphere will do the rest. The club has high ceilings and bright red walls with brick showing through in some areas. The effect is charming. The walls are adorned with rock memorabilia, photos of all the great rock and blues artists, many who had visited crabs, including Bill Wyman, drummer for the "Rolling Stones". The "Crabs" theme is everywhere, especially behind the bar, which is also adorned with a big screen monitor playing a great variety of Rock and Blues music videos. Actually, there are monitors everywhere and a great sound system so no matter where you sit, you can watch, listen and enjoy the action. There's also a pool table and a smoking room in the back, which on my third visit, I discovered was open to the sky. If you’re on vacation here in Santa Marta, Crab's is a great photo opportunity! On the bar, you'll find probably 20 pairs of whimsical eyeglasses of every theme and for every occasion that makes for a great group photo. Crab's also offers live music from time to time and I would be remise if I did not mention that I have already achieved my goal of playing bass at Crab's. Saturday night means Crab's for my wife and I and we walked in one night to a great Canadian guitar player named Adam Karch (he was visiting Santa Marta). My offer of "a little bass behind that?" was greeted with a positive response and ... like a little kid, I ran home, got my bass and played with Adam until 1:30 AM. I can't promise you that your Rock and Roll dreams will come true at Crab's bar, but you will enjoy the music, the people, the drinks and the atmosphere. There's great "Latin" music everywhere you turn in Santa Marta, but if you crave that good old Rock and Roll and Blues, Crab's Bar, in the Historic District of Santa Marta is where you'll want to be!

Los mojitos son perfectos! tienen muy buena música, el ambiente es muy agradable, tienen una mesa de pool que puedes usar sin restricciones. Es obligatorio tomarse un Jäger Bomb!!

Sigue y seguirá siendo el mejor sitio para ir a escuchar rock and roll, hablar y tomarse unos buenos tragos. Como siempre, la atención el excelente!

Santa Marta tiene una magia como pocas ciudades de Colombia, pero si hay algo que no dejo de hacer cada vez que paso por allí es ir a este bar, un ambiente acogedor, atendido por sus dueños y con una música que no he encontrado en otro sitio

si quiere pasar un rato agradable se lo recomiendo, muy buen rock, el ambiente es muy de los 80s, hay una mesa de billar donde se juega mientras se charla y se toma una cerveza mientras de fondo se escucha muy buena musica

Uno de los mejores bares de rock 80 y 90 de los tiempos con la atencion del dueño del sitio uno se siente en casa donde puedes de disfrutar en tomar poder conversar a gusto viendo y escuchando los mejores temas de rock el lugar es pintoresco unico con historia del rock y arte de la misma con un mesa de billar donde puedes disfrutar asta jugar domino y compartir a gusto es un sitio unico y original

Crab´s una opción diferente en la ciudad de Santa Marta.Se encuentra ubicado en el centro histórico de esta hermosa ciudad caribeña, en una casa colonial que ha sido remodelada satisfactoriamente; tiene un ambiente muy agradable, la música excelente para los amantes del rock. El bar es atendido por sus propietarios, que son personas muy amables y atentas a las sugerencias que se les hace.Los cocteles son muy ricos. Definitivamente no puedes ir a Santa Marta y no pasar por Crab´s.

El local se encuentra en el centro histórico de Santa Marta en la Calle 18, un poco escondido de las rutas mas turísticas. Los dueños son super amables, la música es de la mejor de las ultimas décadas, rock y blues. Muy buenos los tragos. La atmósfera es muy agradable y original.Definitivamente el mejor lugar donde terminar tu rumba nocturna en la ciudad.

Excelente música, ubicación privilegiada y unos anfitriones increibles. Para unos buenos drinks con amigos. Imperdible en Santa Marta!

un lugar donde pasar buenos momentos, buena música, buena cerveza, un lugar diferente, donde se puede jugar domino en la barra y conversar de viejos tiempos de la música con los dueños del establecimiento!

Un pequeño bar cerca del parque de los novios donde puedes escuchar muy buena música si lo que buscas es un poco de blues y rock en medio de tanta salsa y merengue

Para los que buscan algo distinto, Rock n'roll y blues toda la noche con música en vivo de vez en cuando y pendientes de las fechas especiales de los artistas para hacer noches temáticas. Muy bien decorado y con una tina cómoda para tomarse una que otra cerveza!
