Biblioteca Virgilio Barco is a special place of Bogotá. It is part of Parque Simón Bolivar, the biggest of the city. Its architectural circular structure and a system of internal and external ramps allows visitors to have a view of the city and also also makes that no artificial light is needed during the day. Besides the different reading and computers rooms there are auditoriums for expositions, concerters and other cultural events. It has an outdoor cafe with an spectacular reflection pool, so quiet and relaxing, that one only see the sky and the mountains, it is like not being in the middle of a city, It is also surrounded by great gardens with fountains, lakes, bicycle tracks and it has an underground parking place for vehicules and bycicles.

Simple: this is the best library in Bogotá for children. The special room with games, a play area, books in English and Spanish, and helpful librarians to make a visit special time. But in addition to that, outside is the reflection pool with a nice patio for picnics, and around the library there’s a great bicycle track/rollerblading track which is a great place to teach a small child how to go rollerblading. If your parent, so great, underutilized resource.

You think you will go to a public library, but it is beyond this concept. It is a cultural center that was built outside downtown and where it is possible to see the mountains. There you will find people dancing around, moms with their babies and all urban life with a color of art and culture.

I just visited that library because I was interested in the architecture of it. Nonetheless, I was surprise by the quantity of different books (and some are very old but well conserved) they have.

Come here for spectacular views of the city and surrounding hills. I found the Salmona designed building a bit over-designed, with several empty spaces that didn't seem to have much life. However, you can climb all over the building and take photos of the views and structure. Plus, the library is next to several large parks which you can visit on the same trip. If you're used to North American libraries, Colombian libraries can seem pretty slim in their collections. However this library hosts some interesting exhibitions and concerts so check out the schedule to plan your visit.

En esta biblioteca no existen límites físicos ni mentales para permitir que la mente de eleve y pesque las mejores ideas. Sus instalaciones son únicas y sus alrededores inmejorables.

El diseño arquitectónico de la biblioteca es espectacular, y la rodearon de zonas verdes lo cual ha hace mucho más apacible. Para los amantes de la lectura puede ser una buena opción para ir y conocer y pasar una mañana o una tarde de lectura en un lugar realmente agradable.

Além da biblioteca em si, deve ser destacada a bela arquitetura do edifício, um monumento à arquitetura moderna. Vale a pena caminhar por todo o edifício e conhecer todos os seus detalhes.

Me encanta ir a este lugar , uno por la arquitectura y sus alrededores ,,ademas esta al frente del parque Simon Bolivar un plan buenisimo para salir a respirar aire puro y ver nuestras hermosas montañas y arquitectura

Esta biblioteca esta muy bien lograda, es un espacio grande y agradable, da gusto recorrerla. Ademas de que se pueden encontrar muy buenos libros y tiene una variada oferta cultural.
