虽然建筑跟坡道偏旧了，但里面的花草绿地，不免也在城市中成为一个焦点!休憩日的下午，在SANTA LUCIA的某个角落，油油的草皮，安静的环境，一定是一个心灵放松的好地方!

For nice views of the city, take a hike up the Santa Lucia Hill. The hike is a little bit steep in some places, but the view is worth it when you finally get to the top. There is a nice park at the top, and there are 3 or 4 concession stands to get drinks and snacks if you've worked up a thirst. The castle-like structures at the top are interesting. If it's a clear day, you can see the glaciers on top of the Andes.

The Chileans did a great job of transforming this former Spanish stronghold into an interesting urban space. I particularly enjoy it early in the day when there aren't a lot of people around.

It takes a little effort but the walk up the hill is not difficult and the reward is a very good view of Santiago.

The attraction itself is not a great deal to see, but if you climb the stairs all the way to the top tower then doing so will afford you great views of downtown Santiago. For this reason alone it is worth going. Unfortunately, when we went, there was a quite a bit of smog - I think this is normal Santiago, though.It is very easy to get to. Take the Metro, Line #1 (the red line) to the Santa Lucia station, climb upstairs and ask someone to point you in the direction of the hill HINT: Look for the park right there on Alameda St when you come up from the Metro and the hill is right next to it. There is no cost to enter. BONUS: Just across the street is the Centro Artesanal Santa Lucia - this is a WONDERFUL place to buy souvenirs. The selection is vast as there are at least 20-30 separate vendors there selling everything from magnets to patches to purses to Alpaca sweaters, gloves and socks. Prices are reasonable too. From the hill, you will need to walk back to the subway station and walk through to the other side of the street. It is impossible to cross the street so this is why you must walk beneath the street by going through the subway station. Santa Lucia is the nearest metro station - cross the road into the park & you are on you way. A beautiful entrance the Plaza Neptune with a wide arched staircase -then you have a series of paths & steps to navigate,some of the steps are a bit tricky -so be careful. A number of different " follies " are constructed on the hill plus a very large statue to the founder of Santiago on this very spot -Pedro de Valdivia. As you climb up there are plazas to break the climb, get your breath back & take in the view. At the very top you have the Castillo Hidalgo & if you a lucky a panoramic view of Santiago & the Andes. We had a hazy outline of the Andes -but a good near distance photo op. Best to start early & when you leave at the rear of Cerro Santa Lucia you can continue walking to visit Barrio Lastarria & Barrio Bellavista -both have excellent places to eat & shop.

There are several hills in the area which offer expansive views of Santiago and the surrounding countryside. This is a good choice. We had a car and driver take us close to the top, and we walked from there. The distance and steepness are not problems, but the stairs in places are tricky. If you walked all the way from the base it would take less than 30 minutes. It is very accessible.The views are very nice and you can see in every direction. It is close to the city. There is a fountain down below which is worth a visit.If you have access to a car and/or a local guide, then go to Cerro Lo Curro on the north side. This is not a typical tourist destination but if offers broad, panoramic views of the entire area which are the most expansive in the whole area. Cerro Santa Lucía is easy to reach, as it is very close to downtown.The view is beautiful! A very nice walk!

This hill is about a 20 minute walk from the city centre, through the shopping and currency exchange areas. You have a choice of series of steep steps or a circumferential road with a gentler incline! There is a nice plaza reached where you can relax and take in some limited views of sections of the city. However, - you can also keep on climbing to the very top, from which there is a much more spectacular panoramic view.

Besides being of great historical significance, as the original site where the city of Santiago was founded, ths is a very pleasant and interesting hill to ramble over. Beautiful fountains, interesting sculpture, and a couple of small snack and drink stations. Wonderful and very worthwhile views of the city.

I was pleasantly surprised by this. It is a hike to the top, but it's not as bad as it looks from the bottom. The views are good and it's very convenient from the St. Lucia train station and right across the street (alameda) from the must go to place for souvenirs and handicraft.

Nice park, good view of the city. (and free of charge). Amazingly quiet from the noise of car traffic and city noise.

Take your time to walk / climb to the top. some ways are just steps to climb the Hill but this is really interesting once there. The view over the city is very recommendable. Try to do this in a clear day. Santiago can accumulate a lot of Smog and in this case you'll see nothing.

The Mount is close to a train station, beside the National Library and a native handcraft shop, not to mention, close to the eating area of Barrio Lastarria (so, it is easy to get, free to ride and you can join other walks and dining in a single trip to Santa Lucia. Up there, there are parks and snack bars, an ancient castle and astonishing view of the city.

It has a really nice panoramic view of the whole city, its also a good place to try Chile's national drink (Mote con huesillo).
