If you happen to be around Svilengrad, to stop by the village of Mezek to see the thracian tomb. Very interesting tour in this tomb, very curious story of how it was discovered. No drawings or anything, but lots of remnants from religious ceremonies were found here and they are now exposed in museums. There was a huge 170 kg bronze pig discovered on the site by gold-seekers, unfortunately they damaged the legs of the pig but otherwise it can be seen in Istanbul historical museum (the tomb was discovered while this region of Bulgaria was under Turkish rule). Do ask for a guided tour, not sure if there's one in English but the guide tells a great story and I almost dived into the whole story. There are also some street art paintings on the entry alley that are expected to take you to the old Thracian times. Not very impressed, though it was something interesting.Great nature around, so awesome for a picnic too. Lovely place and sight!
