From this place you can see all the houses for which Veliko Tarnovo is famous. The view is amazing and it is also a relaxing place. You can sit on a bench and enjoy the sun and the silance. The monument is also great and impressive. Worth paying a visit

We walked the entire monument and enjoyed the details and the views around the peninsula. Don't bother with the steps in the back hill- obstructed view of the city isn't worth the 335 steps (yes, I counted them).

The monument is located in the very center of the old city. It`s visible from basically everywhere and it`s pretty massive. Very interesting and massive construction ,really makes you fell small. Made some great pictures there, very good photo location.

Due to time restrictions I was not able to go see it up close but majority of town circles around it which allowed me to get some great photos.

If you explore a bit the surroundings you will find another park at the end of around 300 stairs, a plateau far from the center and noise.

Nice monument, and try getting there thru old city narrow streets and stairs, it is more interesting. The details of the monument are very well made. The monument is near Art museum and is in the lower point of Veliko Turnovo, from where you ae able to see the "honey comb" built houses on the mountain. There is also a nice park you can visit from there.

Great views of Gurko Street and the old houses. Great concerts, rock, jazz, folk and classical. A bar during late Spring to late Autumn.

this is my second time to visit Asens fortress. first time it was magical but the way to the church and fortress was crumbling and scary. since then improvement has been done to preserve the ruins. its still magical. remains one of my favourite places in bulgaria

The monument is on a finger of land across the river. The entire town of Veliko Tarnovo wraps around this finger of land providing a scenic view of the buildings clinging to the hillside. The monument is impressive with its size but it is the location and the surrounding view that really make the trip worth venturing to.

Asen's monument is well worth a visit. We have been to Veliko Tarnovo a few times now and only realised how to get down to the monument on this visit. There are great views of the town from the monument. It's a shame the gallery wasn't open but we did have a wander through the park by the monument and that was very pretty too.

An impressive monument with statues finished and detailed to an extremely good standard. The reason for its existence is detailed on the information board and you can not fail to be impressed by the monument, what it represents and the views of Veliko Tarnovo from it. An essential place to visit for historical and aesthetical reasons.

it is a place where you can take some pictures from Veliko Tarnovo, and there is a small Art Gallery nearby. Go there on thursday, the entrance is free that day in the week. ( monday is closed) again, if you go ther in Summer, you may have all the gallery for you only, there was nobody else when we were there. During our visit there was an exhibition of Japanese disigners and local artists! There wa also a motor rock festival during 3 days so for Heay Metal and Rock lovers.. this is the place!

This is a great place to look at the hills and you can enjoy a cup of coffee at the Galleria's coffee shop. Stop even for a few minutes and look at the magnificient views! I would highly recomend to visit if you are planing to go to Veliko Turnovo!

Impressive monument in the middle of Yantra river, next to Boris Deven art museum. You can see it from almost anywhere in the old town but it was harder to find the bridge to cross the river and to get to it :)It's significance is well explained on a board posted in front of it.
