I drug my husband here because it is the highest farm settlement in Iceland (about 1,500 feet) and they raise sheep, which I love since I knit. The church is beautiful and the view of Herðubreið in the background made for some fantastic photos. I could have spent a day there photographing sod houses, the church, the old farm equipment, the baby artic foxes as they were being fed (probably because the farmer had to shoot the mother as adult artic foxes can be pests and eat sheep,) but the highlight for my husband was the Marriage/Wedding cake at the restaurant. I will admit, it was the best cake of its kind (and we had many in our two weeks) that we had. It had a crispy outside and a gooy inside...the perfect cake, in my book. Don't miss the scenery leading up to the farm either; I saw a couple tolting on Icelandic horses and their dog trailing along behind, the barren landscape before the farm was fascinating and the sky...the blue sky...was never-ending.
