Tried to visit in February but the doors were all closed and there was scaffolding around the tower and what appeared to be the main door. Couldn't find a sign to tell me whether it was generally open or not.

A collection of icons, presumably recovered from the now bare Orthodox churches of N Cyprus. So many in one spot can be overwhelming but they are beautiful, if in need of some tlc. The white church is on the hill behind the British Hotel.

The church could do with some repair and a lick of paint. But it is a notable feature of the harbour skyline and looks well against a bright blue sky. The icons are not very old and are for the most part unremarkable. But if you are in Kyrenia then it's worth having a look. If you want to see more remarkable icons, then nip across the Green Line in Lefkosa and go to the Archbishop Makarios Foundation where there are some wonderful examples.

A fabulous drive with some stunning views and great wildlife to see on route. Fine old building to look around gifts and facilities. Plenty stop offs on the way there and back

A good display of mostly 19th century icons, well displayed in a beautiful old Greek Orthodox Church, right in the middle of Kyrenia. Well worth a visit.

The building is located to the west of and overlooks Kyrenia Harbour. The Greek Orthodox church was built in 1860 during the Ottoman period, and the bell tower followed later in 1875. The Department of Antiquities and Museums opens the Church to visitors as an Icon Museum displaying items and icons used in Churches in the 18th - 20th centuries. There is a Byzantine marble sarcophagus outside the church.

Если в восточной части бухты, у главного входа в крепость подняться наверх и углубиться в кварталы старого города, через несколько минут блуждания по лабиринту узких улочек можно неожиданно выйти к старинной греческой церкви. После одноцветных - "песочных" домов старинных кварталов, традиционные белые стены с голубыми ставнями и дверями на фоне синего неба выглядят празднично и торжественно, являя собой некий символ чистоты, непорочности и истинной веры. Кроме того, церковь находится на небольшой возвышенности, подчеркивая тем самым отрешенность от мирской суеты. Внутри церкви сегодня музей старинных икон, собранных из разных храмов острова, которые под прессом времени разрушены или закрыты. Стоит также отметить высокую белую колокольню церкви, которую видно со многих концов старой Кирении.Церковь Архангела Михаила абсолютно заслуженно входит в топ-лист обязательных к посещению достопримечательностей города.

Красивая церковь в самом центре города, внутри находится музей икон. К сожалению, храм требует хорошего ремонта.

Одна из немногих действующих на территории Северного Кипра церквей, хотя выглядит, конечно, очень обветшалой. Возле входа расположен музей икон, а в самой церкви неплохо сохранился иконостас. Надо сказать, внешне оставляет желать лучшего

Красивая старинная церковь. Внутри маленький музей икон и хорошо сохранившейся иконостас. Незабываема на фоне синего неба.

En eskisi 1714 yılına ait olmakla beraber çoğunluğu 19.YY'dan sonraki döneme ait olan ikonların bulunduğu müze olarak kullanılan bu kilise 1860 yılında inşa edilmiştir.. Tarihe meraklı olanlar, kıyıda köşede kalmış yerleri gezmekten keyif alanlar için 30 dk. ayırıp gezilebilecek bir yer, zaten şehir içinde sahile çok yakın olduğundan yürüyerek gidiliyor. Ama uğrayamayanlar için de büyük bir kayıp değil... Her yerde açık olduğu yazmakla beraber pazar günleri kapalı, aman dikkat !!!

İlk gittiğimizde ziyaret saati içerisinde olmamıza rağmen kapısı kapalıydı... Otelimize çok yakın olduğundan sonra tekrar uğrayıp gezdik... Konuya özel ilginiz yoksa görmeseniz de olur, adı üzerinde sadece ikonalardan oluşan bir müze....
