Beautiful surroundings and restaurants are the mainstay of this attraction. Sadly the owners are somewhat pushy and don't take no easily. But some fantastic eateries

Great places to get a full English breakfast (with Bacon) shops ok but a bit pricey, restaurants along harbour front with great views although staff can be a little pushy to get you in to dine

The harbour is lovely place to relax over a meal & or drink with plenty of restaurants & cafes to choose from. The food was really good from the several places we tried with very friendly staff. You can either relax before or after a trip around the shops or castle which are only a stroll away. A very worthwhile visit.

The harbour of Kyrenia dates back to the 10th century BC during Venetian times. As a port of great importance (1489) the Fort was built to protect the city against invasion. It is very attractive any time you visit it, with numerous bars and restaurant by the coast.

Kyrenia Harbour is steeped in history and is well worth a stroll around, you will of course have to run the gauntlet of the harbourside restaurants with the constant invitations patronise their premises.A visit to the castle is interesting although the museums are very basic.

Wonderful views of the castle and the converted carob warehouses now mainly restaurants. Very friendly area and the "visit our restaurant" blokes are not too pushy. The harbour could do with a tidy up and they may have a problem with the drains as you do get the occasional wiff of sewerage. All in all a very pleasant place to visit

Really nice on a sunny day, lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. You cannot beat sitting down with a cold EFES watching the world go by.

Kyrenia harbour, is somewhere I would love to have visited 100 years ago, when it must have been fabulous. Sadly today's harbour area is dirty and unloved. The restaurants, bar one or two are mostly owned by one family, so be prepared for rip-off prices, dirty bathrooms, and hustling waiters. The local municipality, the antiquities department, and other various government departments fight over who should control this beautiful antique harbour. The result, you guessed it, nothing gets done. This winter, heavy seas have almost breached the main seawall, naturally if this fails it will be a colossal disaster, so far almost 4 months on no repairs are being done.Tourist Day boats, fishing boats, gin palaces and yachts all float amongst a sea of rubbish and effluent, and on a hot summer day sometimes the smell can be overpowering.Walking further along the quayside towards the Castle we come across a working boatyard, which in reality should be in the new harbour further along the coast. Opposite the boatyard, and overlooking the harbour, is the rather magnificent Kyrenia Castle TIP :(well worth a visit if only to see the ancient shipwreck Museum)behind this Castle is the site of the ancient Roman harbour, today there is nothing Roman left to see, what there is however is a rather nice little bay that once held a rather beautiful free beach that the locals used to swim from. Unfortunately today the municipality had decided to destroy this beach and it's access stairs, fill it with rubble, and generally make it inaccessible and an eyesore. On the plus side this is genuinely a beautiful island, and Kyrenia a beautiful little town with what could be an absolutely gorgeous harbour. All it needs is some love, tenderness and a bucket load of cash. See it before the sea claims it.

We drove up to the Abbey one morning and were two of maybe only half a dozen people there. It was so quiet and peaceful and the views of the coast were stunning.

Very pretty harbour near the shops and castle. Nice bars around and places to eat.Weather was not good when we were there but harbour would be lovely on a sunny day.
