It's always neat to visit private houses as you get a glimpse of the intimacy and energy of past family life. It's got some awesome memorabilia from Arnold's youth and movie life. The house itself is so cute, the old kitchen, the rooms - they all teleported me to the 50s and 60s when Arnold was a teenager. I would recommend it to all non-Arnie fans too.

For so many years it was my dream to visit Arnie's home, and it finally came true!!! This museum is in the middle of nowhere - you have to take 2 buses from Graz and then go along the road, then uphill, but it's worth it! Even rainy weather didn't stop me! (and we were only 2 days in Austria all in all)The museum is a patchwork of his life - from early childhood through his bodybuilding career on to Hollywood and the career of CA governor. Some items were preserved from the early years, like his bed, exercise room and some kitchen stuff. There is a room devoted to Arnie being a governor, an actor - you will find his desk and many memorabilia items. From the highlights - the motorcysle from Terminator movie. We had the museum for ourselves, I assume only very devoted fans take the trouble to find it! The woman who works there is extremely friendly and sociable - she clearly loves what she is doing. She treated us to a cup of hot chocolate, such a warm welcome, we had a feeling we were really guests at someone's home. We also met Arnie's classmate, but our conversation was limited because he can only speak German. I was hoping to buy there a T-shirt, but there was nothing to choose from - only some postcards, pins, bookmarks and condoms with museum logo. The guest book is such a lovely read - it is filled with love and adoration, take your time to drop a few lines!

I am a huge Arnold fan and visiting his childhood home now museum was a great detour on our trip across Austria. I will say that the museum is a bit out of the way in the countryside. When we got there we thought it was closed, but in fact, we were the only patrons there at the time. For a small fee you can go through his childhood home that is partitioned out into the different phases of his life with rooms dedicated to childhood, bodybuilding, political life, and acting. The gift shop also sells, DVDs, t-shirts, and other souvenirs as well as drinks and snacks. We had a beer in Arnold's backyard patio and enjoyed the beautiful fall weather. If you are a fan, its a must see...Highlights: Pictures with his giant bodybuilding statue out front, Conan the Barbarian Sword, his first weight sets, and the nice backyard patio.

This is the place to be for Arnold Schwarzenegger fans! The museum is Arnold's old home, some rooms are full of memorabilia (movies, bodybuilding, personal life) while others are decorated the way they were when Arnold lived there. In summertime there are guided tours on weekends, for the rest of the year it's quiet - we had the whole place for ourselves although it was Saturday. Take also a little walk around the neighbourhood (there are some ruins nearby) and in the surroundings of Thalersee. There are a couple of restaurants close to the bus stop and the lake. Some tips about getting to the museum by bus from Graz railway station (more simple than the museum website says): when getting off the train, follow the signs to Waagner-Biro-Straße (if you are in a hurry catching the bus like we were, this is better than going to the front of the station - it takes only a few minutes). When you exit the station following these signs, you'll end up next to the bus stop of line 85. 85 will take you to Gösting (last stop), and if you are lucky to arrive when the timetables match, the bus to Thal (48) is waiting there. Otherwise you'll have to wait some time, but it will leave from the same place where 85 dropped you off. In Thal the "Arnold stop" is Thalersee which is the turning point of this line so it's easy to notice. From there it's a short walk along the shore of Thalersee to the museum.

We came here more so for the hubby, an Arnie fan, lots of memorabilia to see, though the DVDs that are on for sale the movies he has starred in are a bit over priced 20€ per DVD! tours are on offer on the weekends it would be more interesting if we were able to attend but unfortunately we couldn't.

I visited the museum with my friend, so as big fans, it's obvious I vote it excellent :) If you like Arnold's movies, work as a governor and his achievements in bodybuilding, it's highly recommended to visit! The museum is near the Thalersee, which is awesome as well. It's easy to find, the staff is very friendly. The prices are the same as on the website. The only thing was missing is the audio guide, which was not working, so we couldn't use it.One tip for the fans, if you search for the Arnold statue, it's not in Graz, it's at the front of this museum!

I'm a big fan of Arnold Schwarzenegger and therefore, this museum was like heaven for me. It is practically a big mansion with each room having a different theme. It tackles the different aspects of Arnie's life. It depicts Arnie's bodybuilding, acting, political and personal life. There are life-sized models and we were allowed to take pictures. There is also a Harley which was used in the shooting of one of the Terminators. We really enjoyed ourselves here and I recommend it to all Arnie fans!

Laterns is a little town 626km from Arnold Schwarzenegger Museum (Google Maps). The address is Linakstraße 9, 8051 Thal bei Graz. From Graz you'll reach the Museum with public transport with Bus 40 to Gösting and than Bus 48 to Thalersee. On the Website of the Museum, you get very good instructions how to reach the place. The museum is Arnolds place where he actually grew up. Many rooms include items of his life and if you are a fan of Arnold, you have to visit this place.Additionally you should pay the restaurant at Thalersee a visit and have some coffee an cake. BTW there is also a sensational church just around the corner.

I've always had an obsession with Arnie so when I was visiting family in Austria I made a special trip to his childhood home. It was wonderful full of all momentos from his films & fantastic statues of him to admire, you learn a lot about his childhood & early years and it's nice to actually go into the house he gew up in & walk around & get the feel if what life was like for him. We also visited the restaurant/cafe at the bottom of his street by the lake this also had photos of him there, it was well worth the visit the only downside is that there wasn't enough souveniers to buy there were only 4 different posters a couple of figurines, books & badges, there should be more stuff for the more hardcore Arnie fans like myself, all in all though a great place to visit

We dropped by during our stay in Graz - we initially drove to Thal and then thought we were lost, there are almost no signs as you drive through residential area, but eventually the place. It's pretty amazing when you see how well curated it is, with items from Arnie's childhood, his early bodybuilding career, movie career (all the way to the latest movies such as The Last Stand) as well as his political career. It's totally random to see the props from Terminator movies in the middle of small Austrian village, just like his old table from his office in Sacramento. Definitely worth the visit.

We stayed in Graz and it was easy to get the bus from Graz train station to Thal. You need to take 2 buses but it only takes 20 mins. The museum is just up the road from the bus top. First right theres a sign. The museum itself is 5 rooms with items from different times in his life and there are loads of cool items such as the sword from conan and the bike from terminator. Overall definately worth a visit
