Place is great for skiing on the piste, several out of piste routes - which are really beatifull when powder is there, which might not Be the case all the time... Cross country skiing is more diffucult as you mainly need to go by cab more up and from Serfaus. There is limited bus connection in / within villages.

We are visiting Austria for a winter holidays for some 16 years already, always visiting different ski resorts. I haven't seen all the resorts in Austria yet, but I already have seen some to compare. And this one is probably the best one.Located quite high in the mountains with villages some 1.200 m above sea level and peaks up to almost 2.800 m above sea level you have a fair chance to find there enough snow even in those lousy winters we experience last couple of years. Very modern lifts, enough places in the restaurants and variety of different slopes makes it possible to find a good place for everybody. And - there is a area for children with small lifts, western village, slaloms etc. of a size I have never seen before. Great place to ski both for experienced skiers as well as for families with small children.

We have been visiting Serfaus Fiss ski area for over 10 years now and slowly the secret is coming more widely known. It is a great all round resort for families especially. There are a good variety of reds and a few decent blacks. The family have all learnt to ski there and have progressed through the resort. Cannot say anything else but it continues to improve every year we visit.

What a fantastic resort, and extra good for families. An incredibly modern and extensive lift network combined with enough altitude for good snow and an excellent snow making system makes this a must ski resort. Its relatively unknown to the non euro's but well worth the visit.Serfaus is the bigger of the 3 villages, with more shops, restaurants and bars. Fiss is smaller but a bit more intimate and quieter. Ladis is the village with no lifts as such, but it has a gondola linking it to Fiss and the lifts from there. The mountain restaurants are for the main excellent with extremely efficient service.Ski school is very switched on to families and kids and does an excellent job, and both Serfaus and Fiss ski schools put on a brilliant show each week.Loved it....

We went to Serfaus last month and we were positively surprised by both the village and the skiing area. Well prepared pistes and easy to navigate.

This is the best skiing area I have visited. It has something for everyone and huge variety of slopes, fun parks, childen's areas etc.. So groups with different skills find it very entertaining.Good lift capasity (6 gondolas from the villages) and usually quite short lines.High skiing area makes it good choice even in worse snow conditions.

My first visit to Ladis the week of 7th to 14th Feb 2015 and having ski'd in France, Switzerland and Canada this is up there with the best. How it is not available through travel agents in the UK is incredible. It has a massive Ski area, over 200km over 3 or 4 valleys with great runs and awesome snow. The mountain restaurants are the best I've been to with incredibly quick service of delicious food. Everything looks like it's new or just truly looked after. The toilets in those I visited where what you'd expect in a 5* Hotel, I couldn't believe them. They'd just built one of the restaurants at a cost of €6 million euro's. The lift system is mainly Gondola's and those that are not have heated seats. It takes a couple of hours of ski-ing and Gondola rides to get out to what they call "the back" where you feel you really are in the mountains and away from everything. What is known as the North Side has the fun park and a slalom ride where you can race friends or family. The Kinterland at Ladis also looks really good and there is a great blue run from there to Ladis for those who are learning. The Ski area is made up of mainly red runs but most are really wide and thus not to daunting, some crazy blacks including the Kamikaze with a 70 degree slope and another off red run 7 where when stood at the top you can't see the piste. They have what seems a mass of Pistenbully's the piste bashers and they are done everyday. We hired ski's in Ladis from right next to the Gondola where you can then store them in lockers with your boots so the walk up to the lift can be made in comfortable shoes and no lugging of ski's.Can't recommend it highly enough, you may have to book accomodation from the resorts web site and get flights to Innsbruck then a train to Landeck-Zams and then bus to Ladis but it's easy. I got flights through EJ and used the OBB web site for the train and bus in Austria. My brother and his wife actually drove from the UK and met me down there. All the 3 villages look lovely and have plenty of quality hotels or appts and some great places to eat if you need them.

No matter what you are : a ski expert, a recreational skier, a family with small kids, this ski resort has it all. Black slopes for the expert, nice big ski lanes for cruising around, an extensive ground with all sorts of things for kids and lot's of great mountain restaurants. It's all there. If however you are looking for nightlife and dancings, though, this is NOT your place to go.

This place is excellent for a family skiing holiday. The ski-school is excellent and the area is large with plenty of slopes for beginners and the more practiced skiers. The restaurants and Hütten are plentyfull and offer everything with a great price/quality level.

A lot of skiing schools, private instructors, fun places for kids, decent food in the piste restaurants.Red category slopes dominates. Always possible to find the place to ski in bad weather (wind, snow, clouds, etc).

We have come to Serfaus and stayed at the Furgler Hotel for the past 6 years. It is a great Family Ski resort. If you have kids and would like to have an adult culinary, relaxing experience , the Furgler Hotel is the place for you.We always rented our equipment at Patschneider. This ski rental is most accommodating. Great friendly staff, they give a 10% discount if you order the equipment on line. If you have to cancel for whatever reason they are very helpful.I would go not to Serfaus, if you are seeking a glitzy nightlife. The ski school is awesome, my kids love the ski school program and we enjoy the slopes of the three interlinked mountain towns. So for us, we love Serfaus, The Furgler Hotel and rent your equipment with Patschneider.

Serfaus is a good family skiing resort due to ski ski schools, blue slopes for kids, a range of reds and blacks for the adults. The u-bahn in town makes it very convenient to reach the ski lifts. No need of a car at all once you are there. There is a big equipment rental shop with professional help and depot under the same roof. Conveniently located at the bottom of the cable car station. No more ski-buses, no more carrying around the equipment. It makes a difference when you ski with 3 children). However, it got really crowded on a windy day at the cable cars as some lifts were closed. I imagine that during high season it would be a real problem to deal with such an amount of poeple.

ski school for children very well managed and easy to use. All in all the range of hills very good for a family with children
