Rimondi Fountain which was built in the 16th century by the Venetians as part of an important hydraulic system in order to confront the lack of water in the town of Rethymon is interesting for the history alone. The fountain itself is not grandeur but why would it be?

A very beautiful fountain and also ancient. There is a lot of history in this town. Its worth a visit to see the remains of this in the old part sitting along with the new.

We almost walked straight past this little piece of history! There is an interesting information board beside it, but that's about all you'll see other than the old fountain itself.Worth taking a quick look at if you are in the area, but as others on TA have said, it isn't particularly worth making a special trip for. It reminded me of the Manneken Pis in Brussels - lots of guide books talk about it as a 'must see', but it's actually quite small ha ha!

We had trouble finding the fountain - my husband's inability to read a map probably. But it is is sort of difficult to find - if you didn't notice the large crowd then you might walk past it altogether as the Old Town is bustling and busy. When we visited there was a group of dancers just in front of the fountain so we couldn't get a close look anyway, the crowd was quite large almost blocking off one street. It is nice to see, but don't go out of your way thinking it's going to be a main attraction. We were there maybe 10 minutes if that and then we went to see the Fortezza.

Pleace don't go to these place. It's my place. When you come then are to much people there. Exception: When you are looking good, smells nice and make interesting conversation, you are welcome to take a drink at gareros bar with me.

A section of the original fountain, interesting but not worth going out of your way to see.Good restaurant/cafe adjacent though.

If you've been to Rome you won't be impressed. But it is a small part of the historic town, so warrants a look.

Beautiful fountain . In the center . There is no any trouble to find it . Nice but nothing special . Fountain Venetian style .

Sit at Galero's next door and people watch - you'll see the world go by. They make the best frappes in Rethymnon, too!

Not a striking monument itself, only a small part of the original building. Interesting history. Located in a very busy part of the old town. Tourists, pigeons, cats and dogs like it :)You can wash your face in a hot summer day or choose a cafe around and watch people taking their evening stroll.

We had no trouble finding the fountain. It is on a main street and is always surrounded by visitors trying to cool down from the heat or take a picture. It's really small, but beautiful to look at considering it's still in use. There is a small plaque on the side to provide an explanation.

basically it is an old bit of wall with water coming out of it. there really is not much to see but it seems to be a popular photo opportunity for tourists, but it is on a busy corner among the tavernas and shops

Walking around the old town, one should stop by the fresh water historical fountain. A venetian fountain from where people would get water back in the days.. It's among coffee places and restaurants in the heart of the old town.

Not where I expected to find the fountain but we stumbled across this by luck. Worth a visit and there is also information on the history behind it.
