kythnos hot springs

the hot springs were really nice to lounge in. we were staying at Delfini Rooms on the ground floor and it was so good to be able to see when the springs were not being used and dash over there to have a soak. early morning was great, very quiet. it seemed that most of the people using the spring were from off the boats in the harbour. although we did see one person washing his dog in the springs!

We have been there in April 2013. There is free natural bath on the right side of the beach of the Loutra - you can find it by hot water from springs which run down to the beach by small aqueduct and flow out to a "bath" which is de-facto part of the beach (5 meters in diameter) surronded by stones.So you can sit in the sandy "bath" around 30-70 cm. depth to which from the aqueduct come very hot water - and mixed with sea water which comes through the stones barrier from the sea side. It is very pleasant experience, you can sit in more or less hot water as you move closer to springs or closer to the sea - also you can sit on warm stones with legs in hot water... Just don't forget to have good clothes to go back after hot bath! And don't come here by bike (for the same reason). I think there could be maximum 7 persons at the same time. Locals use it as bath for sitting there and around sometimes - so be ready for this. But that is really worth to see and experience.

If you are visiting Kythnos in your sailing boat, then this is the place to go. Do not forget to pass by the nearby Ag. Eirini bay. A hot bath in the beach where the hot springs are is not to be missed at every time of the day! Ideal for the night hours! You will identify the spot easily as this is where all the locals are gathered. If you seat in the water long enough, you will start feeling the healing effects of the hot water.

We were surprised to discovr these hot baths in operation. The lovely staff showed us arround and explained us everything. We enjoyed the bath and the fact that everything was absolutely clean and shiny, although rennovation would benefit the place muc. if you do not expect a modern spa decor but real spa bath, this is the place.

Enjoyed relaxing in the thermal waters. Spent about half an hour here. There are individual baths. It cost 6 euros. Remember to take your own towel.

Το όνομα το πήρε από τις ζεστές πηγές που έχει. Υπάρχει ένα ωραίο κτίσμα, παλαιό,αλλά στην σημερινή του κατάσταση δεν κοσμεί ιδιαίτερα τον χώρο!Για λουτροθεραπεία ούτε συζήτηση!Ένα αυλάκι μικρό που τρέχει νερό στην θάλασσα.
