This is an unorganized beach in the South of the island. Access is usually made by car, it seemed to be a place known rather to local people. Water was very clean, beach was good, quiet - but no facilities around.

Trees, natural protected area, no sunbeds nor deckchairs just Eye of Naxos beach or any of the other beaches surrounding Alyko.

This area of Naxos along the south west coast is beautiful. The beaches around Alyko are fabulous, fairly quiet and a great place to explore. I drove around the majortiy of the island and find that these are nicest beaches and definitely worth a visit.

We swam there on a quite windy day, but the waves suited this beach just right! Not organized, so you may have to bring an umbrella with you.Not 100% easy access, but don't worry...you'll get down there anyways, cause once you've seen this beach you must have been attracted to it!Loved it!

This is a wonderful, fabulous, fantastic beach. Well not just a beach. Down an easy path through the dunes you reach the feet of a fabulous cliff with so many isolated coves you almost could imagine to be on a private beach.Bring your food and your water 'cause no markets or bars over there. The view of the bay from the cliff's edge is something special.Windsurfers paradise when windy.

about 20 minutes from the main port. Protected beaches with its own forest and lovely coves and mostly secluded beaches. around all the beautiful agean and views to other islands. Cooling breezes and pristine beaches with calm & safe waters.

A quaint, clean, hidden gem! Great location with a few restaurants near by. I recommend Faros Taverna :)You need a car or quad to get to this place from the main town.Tip/Heads up: Nude beach right next to it. Not that it matters, but just to give a slight warning for people who hate surprises. A little tricky climbing down to. Seniors and children must be careful.

If you are tired of the crowds at Agios Giorgios or Agia Anna, come here to Alyko Beach. Its best feature is that it is secluded. Often when I go there, I am either entirely alone or there are just a few people to be seen in the distance. In fact, you might have a hard time locating it, so I will tell you how to find it. Just drive south about 15 to 20 km from the Chora along the main road on the western side of the island, through Vivlos, and you will be there. (Vivlos itself is interesting with its three now abandoned windwills and main street that is so narrow that in patches there is room for only one lane of cars.)There is a sign for Faros Restaurant next to the parking lot. It makes for a nice outing to come here to enjoy the beach and then stop for a meal or a snack at Faros (which means "lighthouse" in Greek), a family-owned and operated taverna with nice service and good country cooking. However, this end of the island tends to get a bit more wind than those beaches near the Chora, so do not come on a windy day unless you like surf. The beach itself is sandy and the water, although with a few rocks here and there, is mostly sandy-bottomed. And the water is pristine. There are no services here, but if you need something, there is a mini mart about 2 km farther south along the road -- just follow the signs to Pyrgaki Beach and turn left onto the dirt road, and you will find the mini mart next to the Notos Restaurant.

Its a bit of drive, around 18 KM from th town of Chora but very close to some of the other beaches as well, this is a lot less windy and calmer, there is a church that reflects in the waters of the Beach and is a very nice beach to take a swim, however its largely unorganized and so you need to bring your own supplies.

Alyko beach is a preserved area without the mass lines of sun loungers! It is accessible by road/track then a walk over the dunes to reach the cliff top. Walk along the cliff path until you find a suitable descent - not for the faint hearted! Perhaps because this beach is not easily reached by pushchairs etc.. it maintains the quiet and peace that is so attractive. Lovely sandy beach, can be windy, take your own sun shelter/umbrella, plenty of water and food (no bins on the beach so please take rubbish home with you) - sea easy to walk into, warm water (July). Be warned, nudist bathing is active here, so any prudish persons take note!Recommended for peace and tranquility that is offered.
