Only went because of trip advisor recommendation. Little, unique church. Worth the visit to get some pictures. Baroque architecture and very different to what you have seen in an ordinary church.

Very cool and worth the visit. Not sure if it's ever totally open, since I visited off season. Visiting in February, we could only enter the narthex and peer through the iron gates. Still worth a visit!

It's a beautiful church which you can visit and take some pictures. There are other more important places to visit,but if you are in Munich,try to go.

This small church is the most ornately decorated in the whole world. Only small, and only viewable behind bars it's worth going to see

If I have visitors in Munich that I take sightseeing I make always sure that we go down Sendlinger Street from Marienplatz. Halfway on the right side is a hidden gem, the Asamkirche. The church is not easy to find if you do not know it is a midst other houses and almost hidden. Inside is one of the most beautiful baroque churches in Munich - almost a must.

Its our first family trip of twelve to Europe and yes, we didn't regret hitting this on our to to list. It's a fantastic church with nice baroque decor. The kids loved it and we had a hard time explaining the features over our head as noise level had to be toned down. Location is easy to reach. Once out of the church, it's on a shopping street.

You have to see inside this church to really appreciate how brilliantly over the top it's been decorated.

No matter how many Churches you ever visit in Munich (and anywhere for that matter), nothing you will ever see will ever compare or be the same as this one. Open the doors and step into a complete other place in time and into another world. It flabbergasted me in what I saw. It was absolutely surreal! No-one would possibly suspect what was behind those doors tucked away in this busy shopping area. After being in Munich for 10 days and visiting so many other churches and landmarks, I totally understand why it is rated as the number one attraction from Tripadvisor in Munich. You will be speechless and captivated when you see what is behind those doors!

I am very surprised this place is nr. 1 on tripadvisor ! It took us 3 minutes to visit this church, an example of bad taste.... It's not the first time we visit this kind of churches, but I promised myself this is the last time. München is a very intresting town with good musea. Go for it.....!

Quirky-looking from outside, and entirely jaw-droppingly awesome Baroque inside.Everyone who entered was heard to gasp in wonder at the wonderful sight of this theatrical-looking church. Well worth a vist

Stumbled upon it by chance while walking around near my hotel. It is very unusual to find a church nestled in between buildings on a shopping street. The interior is very stunning; small but intense.
