The "Läufkreuz", dating back to second half 14th century, was originally the Crucifix of a cemetery for the poor which belonged to an urban hospital which was closed down in 1841 and afterwards was moved to this location (corner Läufstraße / Obere Wallstraße). The name "Läufkreuz" is derived from the eponymous Street. The figure, which represents Jesus Christ on the cross, is more than life-size large.
