It is one of the most beautiful houses in Achternach: late Renaissance, built around 1589 as a city Palace of Georg III von der Leyen, the highest authority of the Regal Archdiocese. At present it houses the Municipal Museum, which was established in 1936 as "heimatmuseum". It houses finds from the region through the ages, a city model of around 1600, with intervals temporary thematic exhibitions (excavated finds, Carnival, geyser, tinn figures, etc).
