This old pharmacy was mid-18th century built on a bridge pillar of the old Nahebrücke and was destroyed by a flood in 1784 in which the homeowner pharmacist Riem died. The wife of the pharmacist had the privilege to exploit the pharmacy and built a new pharmacy on the island pillar of the Nahebrücke. Aschoff was born in this House. He studied in Heidelberg. Despite his great commitment to scientific observations and research he also had to exploit his own pharmacy. Shortly afterwards he had the pharmacy on the bridge remodled, it ajoined a new building.
