Just a few blocks away from the most tourist-crowded streets lies this wonderful little two-storey art museum. The collection consists solely of works by Hans Purrmann (1880-1966), a highly talented student of Matisse, with some memorabilia and a kind of "appendix" department with paintings by Purrmann's wife, Mathilde Vollmoeller-Purrmann (1876-1943). This place offers a most excellent possibility to see the artistic development of Purrmann from his early dark-coloured works to his later masterpieces. Highly recommended, though be sure to check the opening hours beforehand as the museum is open only few hours per day!
