The villa reale has been very well restored and is a must to visit. There is a Steve mc curry exhibition at the moment which is certainly worth visiting, it is amazingThe bar is overpriced and the service is bad .A pity as it certainly spoils the overall experience

Beautifully restored and curated. The villa is a joy to see with the original furniture and brocade. Well worth the time!

For many years the Villa has been under extensive renos and hasn't been open for tours. Finally it seems the works are completed and it is open again. Had the chance to visit it after many years, absolutely OUTSTANDING! Not to sound pretentious, but this monument could easily top the Louvre in Paris.

We visited the villa reale with frienda from Monza who had been before the extensive renovations. The work done has made a great visitor attraction and when we visited we waited 1hourto enter. We walked around the gardens till our slot cAME around. We had a guide and also an audio guide in English for the entry fee.The tour of the villa lasts about 1hour and was informative and the guide took time to make sure we understood.Well worth as visit!

The restoration of the villa is impressive, but there is no period furniture and very very few paintings. Nice for a stroll but not very stimulating. Video displays show the before and after pictures and the work that went into it. But after the first few apartments, you feel like you have seen it all. I saw it for free, and I would have been mad if I paid the full 12 euro.

Hi, I recently visited a town called Monza, we stayed at a little campsite which the locals there call Campsite Villa Reale, its a really nice area, some would say its small but i think it gives it character. You do have a lot of wildlife around and i would suggest taking bug spray, you will need this. The facilities for showering and toilet were basic, however they were more than sufficient. You are within walking distance to the town and restaurants also but not so near the noise becomes annoyingOverall the place is charming and i would go again many times over and its relatively inexpensive considering you are staying in such a nice area.

We visited the Villa, Park and Rose Garden recently. It seems that there is about another month's work to go on the main building before it is open to the public. Groups through a local tour guide can access the apartments at this point in time. When the restoration of the Villa is complete it will be a major tourist attraction for Monza and even Milan. This Palace (not Villa) is really beautiful.Don't miss it if you go anywhere near Monza. But check directly with Villa Reale that it is open when you wish to visit it (don't rely on the information on the internet, like we did).

It is in the process of being restored and certain limited group visits are allowed, but it`s time to open it up to the general public to admire its grandeur.

IT more a palace than a villa with endless rooms with a great width. Unfortunately I went there in a bad time because of restoration but still manage to take some beautiful photos. The Royal Villa (Villa Reale) is a historical building in Monza, northern Italy. It lies on the banks of the Lambro, surrounded by the large Monza Park, one of the largest enclosed parks in Europe. The palace complex includes the Cappella Reale, or the "Royal Chapel", and in front of the palace are the Royal gardens.

didn't like the restoration works. Difficult to explain, but it looks as if little or no aesthetical choice was taken. All the rooms look the same.

My girls, 10 and 12, and I had the place to ourselves with the exception of the staffer following at a descrete distance. There was no rush and we were able to enjoy the beautifully painted ceilings, displays of period dresses, jewelery and uniforms. Most rooms were sparsely furnished with the exceptions of the fully set dining table and hunting room. Nicely preserved marble baths, dressing table and dressing room. The library is in wonderful shape, but seems so empty without books. The tour ends like most do, in the gift shop. Unfortunately there are no photo books about the villa, just a few postcards. Photos are not allowed in the villa (I asked before entering) and I would have liked a keepsake even if it were only available in Italian. We finished the self tour in less than the usual hour, mostly because we were unable to read anything more than names and dates on the information signs. I do believe the price is rather high (20 euro for adults and 15 euro for children) considering how few rooms are open to the public at this point.I hope to return when the weather is warmer and enjoy time in the gardens and park. I do hope they will continue to renovate rooms and furnishings in this beautiful villa.
