it is a really well conserved abbey, directly on the lakefront of a hill, isolated from the villages around.monks still leave and work here, selling the homemade products of the vineyard.highly recommended to have a look to the hole collection of homemade spirits, especially the famous Gocce Imperiali!

soooooooooooooo beautiful and such scenic views, the only con was that it was raining hard when we were there so we couldn't enjoy its gardens as much as we wanted to!!

Loved the tranquility. Very pretty views of Lake Como. I bought a beautiful stone cross for my home - made by hand by the shop lady's daughter. Very nice artwork, and we also bought a delicious peach liqueur to take home with us

Beautiful and peaceful, as others have said. The staff were also very kind. However, if you're taking the ferry around the lake, be aware that the ferries stop there very rarely. One can tour the Abbey and taste the liqueurs, but it's difficult to occupy six hours otherwise.

The abbey of Piona is a delightful place to visit, the small church and cloister is moderately interesting for the average visitor but are quite delightful for admirers of religious architecture. I found the peaceful atmosphere of the gardens and grotto of our Lady quite relaxing. There was only a handful of visitors during my visit . The monks have a store that sells liqueurs, chocolates and other nice goodies. If visiting the lake Como region for a brief time this might not be a place to consider visiting as it takes the better part of a day to get here using the lake ferry, however for visitors with more time in their schedule it is worth doing it.

We went to Abbazia di Piona on a Monday morning. It was not crowded, and we went in the chapel and in the monastery. Outside, even on the way to, there are spectacular views of Lake Como. We were unlucky to find maintenance works, but I recommend it if you're near Piona.

A visit to the Piona Abbey is a great experience. The Abbey's church is an excellent example of Cestercian architecture. The visitor can buy in the Abbey's shop good wine, liqueurs, honey and other produce made in the monastery. The route to the Abbey is very picturesque and the views to Lake Como spectacular.

E' davvero a portata di mano per chi transita da Colico: la bellezza della natura del luogo e gli edifici religiosi si sposano in modo armonico. Il piccolo bar annesso era chiuso (avrei preso volentieri un caffé dopo la messa) ma poco male.

Если вы путешествуете вдоль озера Комо, обязательно посетите это место. Правда дорога туда узкая и извилистая, но очень живописная. Аббатство расположено на высоком берегу с прекрасным видом на озеро Комо. Внутри ухоженная территория с оливковой рощей и старинными церковными зданиями, где проходят службы. Обязательно посетите смотровую площадку перед входом в аббатство, вид просто потрясающий.

Come detto nel titolo, passando da queste parti, non si può non fermarsi a visitare questo luogo di pace e silenzio!!! Assolutamente fantastica la chiesa con uno sguardo sul lago, in un luogo dove i frati sembra curino tutto nei minimi dettagli.....

Posizionata in una località incantevole del lago di Como, questa Abbazia conserva intatte le sue strutture.Molto ben tenuta, invita al rispetto verso tutto e tutti.Una gradevole sensazione avvolge i visitatori ed aiuta a sopportare le quotidiane tensioni.

Ciao a tutti!!!!!!!! Ogni volta che sono da queste parti non perdo l'occasione per fare un "salto" in questo meraviglioso angolo di lago che ha la particolarita' di essere situato su un promontorio che da un lato guarda sul parte del lago prima di colico e dall'altra parte una magnifica veduta sul laghetto di piona. Consigliato vivamente poi per il bellissimo chiostro con giardinetto interno e caratteristico pozzo, per la chiesa risalente a poco dopo il primo millennio e per la riproduzione della grotta di lourdes...... che dire, un posto dove, nel silenzio, ritroverete voi stessi.Alla prossima recensione...........

Sono stata qui in visita varie volte e l' ho sempre considerato un luogo davvero molto rilassante. Mi piace anche il negozietto di cose semplici e i liquori fatti dai frati

Bello passeggiare nel parco, la copia della grotta di LOURDES ,c'è anche uno spaccio dove vendono prodotti fatti dai frati..liquori , caramelle , tisane ecc
