Only a short boat ride away from the main beach in Positano, it is a relaxing spot, with great food away from the more commercial and busy Spiaggia Grande. Try to get there early, or reserve some chairs to ensure a spot closer to the water.

This is a beautiful hidden spot in Positano. You have to go there if you visit Positano. There is a boat service from the main harbour and you have to watch out for the sign "Bagni d'Arienzo". Or you can take the stairs....which we did and it was really existing. So if you don´t have any problems with your back or don´t have any children, try to take the stairs ;-)In the main season it can happen that there are no more chairs available because most of the visitors pre book the sun chairs, which i think is not so customer friendly. We arrived really early hoping to get a pair of chairs in the front row. Unfortunately all chairs were already occupied although the beach was completely empty. But besides that was everything else great and delicious ;-) The small restaurant offers the best margaritas at all. Or maybe they taste so good because you are lying on a beautiful beach with a much more beautiful sea and the most beautiful view.So try to pay a visit to Bagni d'Arienzo.....it's worth it

You have to go there! The food was soooo good! The drinks are pieces of art and deliciousI prefered this beach to Positano's main beach but there's a small boat that can bring you to Positano at the end of the day for a small fee to catch your bus.

Depends what your preference is really - if you are into being seen on a crowded beach with many other people, the main beach in Positano is for you. If you are into a quieter atmosphere removed from the main town area, head to Arienzo beach. We stayed right above it in a Villa and walked down the 270 steps to the beach past the amazing villas in the area. Because the beach faces to the south west, it gets the sun longer than any other beach in Positano. If you want a chair it will cost you 8 Euro. If you have a towel and don't mind lying on the pebble beach (but very clean) you can go to the free area like we did. Really fantastic safe swimming at this beach. You can get food and drinks too from a quality cafe. Open 7am - 7pm in the summer season.

This beach is partially run by family owned business. Small charge for chairs and towels. The friendly owners could not be more gracious. Their menu has wonderful fresh selections as well as a great bar! Swimming is wonderful!

My wife and I took the free boat taxi service from the main dock in Positano. The boat driver didn't say a word the entire time but the view was more than enough for us. We arrived early, around 10:30-11:00 and we were the second group there. We were able to pick our beach chairs and umbrella. They were very accommodating and the beach chair cost was 8 Euros each. They allowed us to pay this total at the end of our lunch. The took a lunch reservation for us at 2 pm and we began to relax. The section of chair closet to the cliff wall stays shaded the longest. We choose a section right in the middle and we were in full sun by 11:30. The relaxing was just great here. They will bring drinks to your beach chair if you like as well. We went up to the bar to order and then they brought the drinks down to us. Nothing is really "cheap" here but everything is good so we hardly minded. For lunch we tried the grilled fresh mozzarella on top of lemon leaves, delicious. For main course my wife got spaghetti with clams and mussels. I ordered the lemon ravioli. Both dishes were great and the portion was adequate without being too large. We retuned to relax on the beach and it being September the weather was perfect and the beach was quiet. There were only about 25 people there if I had to guess. Most times when I ventured into the water (very nice) there were 5 or less people swimming. We took the free water taxi back again at around 4pm. This was a great experience and if we were staying longer than 5 days we most likely would have returned.

Among our favourite parts of our recent Italy trip was a four hour hike from Prariano to Positano. We found the trail head to the Path to the Gods (Sentiero degli Dei) in Prariano, and undertook a 12 Km hike, with spectacular vistas, linking Praiano to Positano. It was a wonderful trail through some of the country's least develop country-side. We walked past ruins of old farm houses and started the trek with 1,000 steps to a monestary. We ended the hike at a wonderful Bagni d'Ariezo in Positano where the owner found me a swimsuit to wear since I had neglected to bring one and was desperate to cool off after several hours hiking. We were then treated to exceptional food home cooked by the owner's wife and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon swimming, sunning (8 Euro for two chairs and an umbrella), lunching , sipping drinks (some of them complimentary) before the owner took us back to Praiano by water taxi. Cost for the water taxi was 25 Euro, although he tried to arrange a shared ride for us which could have saved us some more. We collected our car in Priano and return for the evening in Sorrento. He took us into a cave for a look on our boat ride back to Priano. What an amazing day!

Gorgeous beach with all the conveniences. As all the other reviews have stated, this beach is quieter and cheaper than the main beach. I also found the water a little cleaner. There's a free shuttle to and from the beach in the morning and later afternoon (I believe if you want to leave before 4pm it costs around 5 euro to get the shuttle boat back). I didn't eat at the restaurant but had a few drinks. At the risk of sounding like a complete diva, I would've liked the drinks to have been served to our chairs. I think they would've made a lot more money that way!

Took the boat out to the private beach and rested all day. The bar is great in that they'll bring you drinks to your chair. The food at the restaurant is delicious. Always get whatever the fresh fish is. The seafood pasta was the best we've had all week (and that is saying a LOT). Spend the day here- you won't regret the slower pace away from the hustle and bustle of Positano.

Wasn't even planning on doing a beach day but figured we were pretty tired from the day before and thought we should lounge around for a day and came to Bagni d'Arienzo. Best decision ever. They pick you up at the pier from Positano, nice 5 minute boat ride to the beach, We rented the beach chairs and chilled the whole day. The water was crystal clear and the beach had no sand which was awesome. It's rounded pebbles that I had no problem walking on. We even decided to have lunch there and had some fresh fish which they grilled (think it was mahi mahi or lampuka). Excellent with some Peroni's and continued to lounge around till it was time to go and they drop you off again. The staff which looked to be family were very attentive and helpful with anything that was needed. Definitely put this on your list when you visit Positano.

We decided this afternoon to walk to this lovely beach approx 1k from the town along the road then many many many steps from the road to the beach. Worth the walk and the steep stairs both ways. Idillic cove, lovely sea to swim in, pebbles hard on feet so bring beach shoes or similar. Hire very good loungers and umbrella for 8 euro each ( half the price of the loungers on the main beach ) The beach club is nice but have to agree - expensive food for what we had. I suggest you pack a picnic instead and enjoy the day!

Great little family run beach. Good food (we had the insalata caprese everyday!) and cocktails and warm, friendly hospitality. You can also take a water taxi from there to the centre of Positano which takes around five minutes.

Positano in August is heaving, so it was a delight to take a lounger on Arienzo beach, jump the waves, or spot the fish in the crystal clear waters on calmer days. The trip over is free, and to return its 5 Euros. If you get the ferry, it is expected that you will either pay for a lounger @ 10 Euros each, or have a meal (or both). There is a shower and a few canoes and lilos for hire. Great to just chill and read, but lovely to have lunch or a snack which can be delivered to you lounger if you want.the beach can be reached by steps from the road and there is a public area. Take a parasol. If you get the ferry, hope for a windy day and allow the expert sailors get you safely off the pontoon and back to Postiano with the spray in your face, wind in your hair and stunning views en route.

We was in Positano with my husband last week of August. Our absolutely honest comment about Bagni d'Arienzo - UNREAL! ABSOLUTELY GREAT! SPLENDID! We would like to thank the owner of the beach - Guiseppe and all his family and staff for great time! The only thing to be upset for us, was that we had just 2 days to spend on this beautifull beach! :( Next year, we will come back to Positano for the love of Bagni d'Arienzo! The view is great! Water is absolutely clean! I cannot even write about food on the beach, because, it is not possible to describe how tasty, fresh and attractive food is on this beach! We visited many other restaurants in Positano, but never eaten such delicious dishes! Cold Proseco, grilled calamary and oysters, rucola from the personal garden of the owner! - the best what can be in this life! :) MAMMA MIA!!!!!!!!!! Thank you soooooo much Bagni d'Arienzo and see you next year!
