It is a great exhibition about the history of the area in the first half of the 21st century. The area was a mix of marsh and swamp and between 1920 and 1938 was drained. In the winter of 44 was also battle field between. I liked the recreation of scenes with actual machinery used at the time, and also the exhibition of machinery pictures of the time to put them in real contest. This is a very nice departure from the typical Italian museum (Roman stuff and Churches) with good explanation and very choreographic. It is a full day activity in my view, although the guide mentioned it would probably take 3h. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed when we went, so i cannot comment on that.

I ve always been in love with history and this place explain really well the history of our territory. I got here for the first time when I was in elementary school and since that day I felt in love with this museum.The personal is also really kind when I had to write my thesis about the foundation of Latina they gave me many suggestions and a lot of documents. Totally worth.

It took us several attempts to find this - eventually I had to ask directions in the nearby town of Pontinia. Consequently, we arrived 2 hours before closing - which left us with nowhere near enough time to get round this huge and fascinating place. Our return visit (next year) is a must!

We went to the Piana delle Orme Museum in principal to see the exhibits relating to the second world war, but little did we realise the full content of the museum and can honestly say we enjoyed all of the museum.There are sections on childrens toys, model airplanes and boats, collectors figurines and toy soldiers, how the local land was developed, cars, the history of machinery to name but a few, plus of course the areas covering the second world war.It really is an outstanding museum where we spent a good few hours.Staff are helpful and welcoming and there is a restaurant on site serving hots dishes as well as Panini's etc.Come on your own if you can rather than on a tour so you have enough time to see and experience all that is here.

Located just 15 minutes by car from the city of Latina, I would noy expected to find such an interesting museum. Covers two sectors. The left side is dedicated to agricultural life, and the machineries - equipements that have been used. But a lot of machineries from 1900 and after mainly not only from Italy and other countries are placed there. There also sceneries from every day life of the past, very well prepared. The second sector is dedicated to Worl War II and has both machineries-equipements and sceneries from great battles that Italians were involved. In the museum there is audio system in every room with english, italian or german language but the sound quality is not that good. Hoever there are many explanation boards all over the place. There is an vending machine with water etc and surpricily the water of 0.5 costs only 50 eurocents. The normal ticket cost 12 euro per person and I believe it is a fair price.

Un museo di cui non conoscevo l'esistenza e... arrivata lì sono rimasta a bocca aperta!Organizzato benissimo, veramente originale... diversi capannoni a tema che ripercorrono la memoria storica dagli inizi del 1900, con diverse rievocazioni e ponendo un particolare accento sulla bonifica delle Pianure Pontine, la zona in cui sorge il museo... Aiutati forse dal maltempo, la fortuna ha voluto che quella domenica fossimo praticamente quasi soli, quindi passando attraverso quelle scene così realistiche sembrava di fare un vero e proprio viaggio in dietro nel tempo! Mi ha lasciato una così bella emozione... graziosissimo il museo del giocattolo vintage e molto suggestiva la ricostruzione di trincee e bombardamenti durante le guerre... senza contare aerei, locomotive, carri armati, auto d'epoca e quanto altro... tra cui alcuni pezzi unici.Da ricordare inoltre che il museo è all'interno di un bel parco verde, dove si possono ammirare pavoni, cigni e altri animali e si possono affittare dei tavoli dove mangiare all'aria aperta... in alternativa a un ristorante interno.... Per chi vuole c'è anche un agriturismo, che non ho avuto il piacere di provare e... di tanto in tanto vengono organizzati eventi e mercatini.ASSOLUTAMENTE DA NON PERDERE!

Si sente parlare molto poco di un posto che vale proprio la pena di andarlo a vedere sia giovani che persone che si ricordano di questi anni...ho voglia di riandarci presto...perchè sono sicura che qualcosa mi è sfuggito...mi sarebbe piaciuto avere ,pagando naturalmente, le didascalie per ripassare la storia...veramente ben fatto...unica cosa bisogna andare a mangiare presto o portarsi il panino...buona volontà delle persone al servizio ma non sanno calcolare le persone...suggerimento un buono acquistato prima così si calcola bene e non si rimane a bocca asciutta....

Posto molto accogliente, ruspante, dove trascorrere ore piete all'aperto, magari gustando anche la cucina del ristorante:modesto ma familiare. Bello anche il museo

Unico nel suo genere il Museo richiama alla memoria il 900, passato ma ancora ricordo vivo. Un museo per tutti, bambini, genitori e nonni. Si può trascorrere del tempo all'aperto o degustare piatti tipici dell'Agro pontino presso il Ristorante. Lo consiglio a chiunque voglia trascorrere un giorno diverso ma istruttivo e spensierato.

A Piana delle Orme si possono rivivere momenti storici del nostro recente passato.Sono molti capannoni a tema, ma quelli più coinvolgenti sono strutturati come se si entrasse veramente nella storia...

Ho visitato tanti musei a tema nel mondo, ma credo che questo museo sia davvero unico, sia per la collezione di oggetti e veicoli che propone e sia per le scenografie realizzate per i singoli argomenti. Bellissimo se si vuole capire davvero la bonifica pontina

Un museo storico assolutamente da visitare con i bambini e con i NONNI se si ha possibilità, ne verrà fuori una giornata con racconti e rievocazioni storiche.Ricostruzioni del periodo della bonifica PONTINA, mezzi usati per la guerra, giochi di quando si era piccoli completeranno un tuffo nel passato.C'è anche un ristorante dove Vi ho pranzato, non male pasti della tradizione .Bel posto da non perdere.Fuori volendo si può pranzare al sacco affittando dei tavoli e aggiungendo carne cotta alla brace.

il museo storico di piana delle orme non dista molto da casa mia e più di una volta mi sono recato li, sia per svago sia per acquistare articoli che non sempre si trovano in giro (vecchie divise militari e tante altre particolarità). assolutamente da non perdere.

Localita' carina, merita l idea del ritorno alla natura misto al ricordo di atmosfere primo 900, con annessi musei. Cibo nella media piu da mensa che da ristorante di campagna ma prezzi alla mano per cui va bene cosi.

È stata una visita davvero bella e istruttiva. Le ricostruzioni delle battaglie sono molto veritiere, sembra di riviverle personalmente. Anche tutta la parte dedicata alla bonifica pontina è completa di ogni cosa e fa capire come si viveva in quel periodo. Dovrò tornarci sia per la bellezza del museo e sia perché la prima volta non sono riuscito a visitarlo tutto prima dell'orario di chiusura. Non posso dire alcunché sul ristorante, perché non ne ho usufruito.
