The gardens are really nice and if you go to the top of the hill, you get an amazing view of the beautiful landscapes surrounding Meran. The price is quite high but it is worth visiting.

I visited this gardens last year and I was very impressed on how well looked after it was and how beautiful the flower displays and the different section were. it is definitely a must visit for anyone traveling to Merano or Bolzano. The tourism exhibition inside the castle was also very informative and interesting. I am hoping to go back there next year and enjoy a lovely cup of coffee overlooking the lake

This series of Gardens are worth seeing in Sud-Tyrol! Spend about 2-3 hours strolling, climbing (yes, the gardens are on 3-4 levels). Orange/citrus trees, Palm trees, cacti, are all present, with indigenous plants, flowers in season.Nice café for light snack (coffee/tea and cakes/ice cream) overlooks a large pond. Beautiful

This place is absolutely wonderful. Only for the garden you need several hours to stroll around. Lots of magnificent hidden pearls are to discover . With the visit of the castle and the Touriseum you need easily one day There are also guided tours, very interesting !

This place deserves to be the top attraction in the area. You can spend all day. The gardens are absolutely beautiful. The views from the high lookout are stunning. The Touriseum is fun and interesting. Absolutely worth the entrance fee and as many hours of your time as you can spare.

We loved the gardens and the views they provided. Many of the plants were nicely labeled. There was also an aviary.

Our Dolomite Guide, Gary Scott of RightPathAdventures.com told us about this attraction. The gardens are spectacular as is the castle. We spent several hours here and still didn't see it all. Lots of walking, up and downs, but worth every step. There was a wonderful exhibit in the castle. Try to plan your day so you can have lunch at the terrace restaurant. Delicious! The view from the bottom of the gardens looking back at the castle is beautiful.

Went to Merano for day tour from Austria. Wanted to see gardens but only had a few hours there. Could have spent the whole day as so much to see, the gardens are beautiful and well cared for. The views from the higher levels over the town are fabulous and would love to go back and spent more time exploring the woods.

We did not find this in our Guide Books of the region. We came here only because it was very close to our hotel. It was extraordinary; the gardens are extensive and varied and beautiful and a pure pleasure to walk through. We loved them so much we returned two days later with friends. They also loved the gardens and we were very happy to spend several more hours here. Easily accessible on the walking path from Merano. It was our favorite attraction in Merano and should be in every guide to the city.

You honestly could spend 6-8 hrs at this place!! The museum takes a small chunk of that time and is really neat but then there are the gardens, there is just so much to take in. Breathtaking nature!! I will come back and spend more time there.

A beautifully designed botanical garden in Merano. Big, spacious, extremely interesting and full of several different environments: the Woods is my favourite, with japanese woods, loads of bamboo varieties and plenty of water. Don't miss this place, it's fantastic!

The best botanical gardens I've ever been to. And I don't usually even like them. But we stayed 3.5 hours and only left because we were exhausted.

The most beautiful and elaborate gardens I have ever seen with space given over to gardens from all around the world, great viewing platforms with amazing views across the valley. You can easily spend 4/5 hours there and still not see everything. Good restaurant there as well.

Wow these were truly the best gardens I've been to. My particular favourite area was the dahlias...beautiful. A lovely restaurant for a quick drink as well. Worth a half days visit.
