We've been there in October, with our twins aged 2,6 years. Both loved it!1- We booked a ticket in advance via Internet, so it was cheaper! Also, at low season the park worka only during weekend, so a bit croudy if you go by car2- We took a train - and that was cool! The animals came by the windows, the train stops all the time, so you can make pictures and stare at those creatures! The train takes a separate road, so if you preffer to go by your own car - be prepared for huge traffic jam! and that is awful! Why: - the kids are at lower seats, so mainly hard to see evrything. -there are lots of cars, all ON, so animals breathe this, however seems that this doesn't bother them at all! - when going by car, be prepared to spend 1,5-2 hours on the way, that train makes in 40 minutes! - another plus of train is that it brings you to the very top, so when you go down by step you see everything - lemoors, dinasaurus, eagle show, you can have a sneak there!3- Attractions are mainly for small kids, above teen age. Some (for adults and more interesting and exciting) are for additional price, but nor expensive! A lot of shops with animals, mostly Made in China stuff :) 4- Good spacious parking+ a place where you can leave your dog, if you go inside! great for travelers and campers!5- Aquarium - very small, and a huge minus - all expositions are high, so you have to take your small kids up all the time, so that is hard.all in all - that is a nice day to spend with your kids!

My husband dropped me off with my 17 month old toddler so we could while away the day here and he could get some work done at home.A storm came over and all the attractions were closed, so I sought shelter from the torrential rain in a toy shop. I couldn't believe it when a staff member told me I would have to leave because my toddler kept touching things.I am not a mother who lets my son trash things, i was following him around like a hawk, only letting him touch non-fragile things, putting things carefully back in their places, clean and unbroken afterwards. When my (italian) husband came to pick us up and complained about me being evicted into the thunderstorm she informed him that I ought to teach my son better manners. There was no discount to the price despite most of the attractions being closed and clearly none of the staff there were interested in making the place pleasant for visitors, let alone being helpful.I left the safari park cold, wet and in tears and suggest everyone give it a wide berth!

Me and my family went last monday. It wasn't crowded and we didn't have to wait. We wisited the animals by train (2 euros each), the kids rode a pony (3euros each), we saw the eagles..., and then we went to the carousels. The kids loved the day. The park wasn't crouded but the toilets were not always cleaned and the sinks are sometimes broken. I can't imagine during weekend!

At 17 euro per adult, 12 per kid, it is quite expensive for what it offers. The safari park is tiny in comparison to the one in Puglia. In the other park with rides, not all rides are free, half of which you would have to pay an extra entrance fee. We came after 4 pm when there was no line at the rides. So it was ok for the kids. But my 5 year old couldn't go on the pirate ship and tube ride, both of which require min height 1.20 m. If you have to wait or have to drive a long time here, I don't see why you should come here. Go to a bigger amusement park.

I've been there twice in 2013 with my three kids (6,4,2) and they really had fun although once it was very crowdy. Food it's pretty expensive and I prefer the safari tour with my private car rather then the expensive train. There are a lot of animals to watch in a "freedom like" condition and after the tour kids can enjoy other attractions. Definitely worth for a visit.

A great day for kids, but an awful day for adults. Too much traffic on the safari trail. The poor animals who have to breathe in the exhaust fumes. There are a few rides for the children, although some are not included in the price. A few years ago most were. This is quite unfair as you can't tell your children not to go on them. So at 17euros per person with the train and the ride comes to about 30 euros a person really! And that is not value for money. I would pay 20 euros and have everything included.Food outlets vary in quality, some clean and some quite dirty. Toilets were filthy both in the morning and afternoon. I wouldn't recommend this place even if children had fun. They could have the same amount of fun in a park. 2 years ago, I would have recommended the safari park. However, in this time the place has gone downhill.

Visited the Safari late in July .. just before the August crowds. I went based on brochures I picked up. As it was raining, not many people were around. That was a godsend. The drive through the safari enclosure was leisurely and the size is adequate. A couple of thunderclaps spooked some animals and it was nice to see their natural instincts kick in. Quite an experience for the price. There are additional exhibits outside the safari proper; a decent aquarium, a really nice insect exhibit and a small aviary. Food services were quite good and on the inexpensive side. Plenty of space to sit and grab a bite. Finally, and not to be underrated if travelling with children, there are the free rides. Ok, they may not be Disneyworld material but they are included in the price and some, such as the water shute can be a good buzz especially with kids. All in all, well worth a visit if you are touring Lago Maggiore or visiting the Milan area.

We stopped here on our way to Lago Maggiore from Milan. The safari park has lots of animals and its safe because there are a good number of guards. The park where children can play is good too, offering a variety of rides and games. The shows are entertaining and the performers are good, especially the parrot and magician shows.

What a surprise !A wonderful place to bring your children if you are traveling in the area. The park is very big. Visitors can drive through the safari area on their own car or they can choose to ride the small train to see the animals. Lions, tigers, cheetah, rhinos, hippos, zebras, giraffes, monkeys, pelicans and many more will walk a few steps from you. It is an amazing experience. We decided to ride the train to be more environmentally friendly but we realized that the train never stops for photos while cars can. We were not able to take many nice photos from the train because the glass is quite tick and scratched so the photos came out faded. Also the train has a very smelly exhaust . We were seated right in the front wagon and it was pretty strong. The tour explanation during the ride was in Italian only and we couldn't understand anything. Also, the shows were also announced in English but the birds of pray one, which is the only one we watched was all in Italian. Other than this, everything was up to our full satisfaction. We really enjoyed our day, we found the personnel friendly and attentive, the food good and fairly priced and the activities plentiful. In addition to the drive through safari area there is a walk through area with farm animals ( including the giant American bison ), an aquarium, a reptile center, a park with dinosaurs reproductions, picnic areas, restaurants and gift shops, a 6d's movie center and an amusement park with plenty of free rides ( the most popular seemed to be the logs on water ), a go- kart track, a video game arcade, a horse riding for children and much more. There were shows to attend throughout the day starting at 1 pm. Shows with parrots, with birds of pray and circus like entertainment. The entrance price as of July 2013 was 17 Euros for adults and 12 for children. The train ride through the park was 2 extra Euros. We felt that the price was absolutely fair for the amount of things to see and to do and the entertainment provided. Plan a full day to visit the whole park. This place is really worth a visit.

We took a drive with our relatives toward Lake Maggiore and ended up at the Safari Park. I love to photograph wildlife but wasn't sure what to expect from a safari in Northern Italy. I was pleasantly surprised! I actually enjoyed this safari ride better than the safari tour at Animal Kingdom at Disney.

Its a combination of an amusement park and a zoo, both are small, not that many attractions nor animals, but we enjoyed it.Some attractions inside the park are not free.

Lots of animals to see for kids - young and old! There are also shows: parrot show, eagle show, etc.,There is a part where you can go with the car and see lions, tigers, giraffes, elephants, etc. And then there is a part where you can look at animals by foot (reptiles, fish, birds, etc.). A great way to spend the day with your kids and friends!

This may not be the biggest park one can find in Italy but it offers a good mix of wildlife and fun rides for the kids. Starts with a drive through the park when one can observe from his own car a variety of wild species including giraffes, lions, deer and more. In the park also an acquarium and a reptiles centre. A vast choice of rides that suites all ages, even adults. Good food to eat over there at reasonable prices but one can also take prepacked lunches to eat in the various picnic areas. There are also shows, all very spectacular: falconary, magics and more. I suggest a full day here to anyone with or without kids. Price:18euro adults 12 euro children.

We decided to take the 300km drive from La Spezia to Pombia to visit Safari Park after seeing a brochure.Safari Park - Very clean and well maintained. Animals seem to be very well looked after. We arrived on Saturday, and the park was almost empty which obviously was great for us as that meant no queuing for attractions etc, and we breezed through the Safari with no stress of people being behind us or in-front of us.ThemePark Area - Not the most modern or even very big, with all attractions being aimed towards families with small children. Which for us attending with a 4 year old was just perfect.TopTipStay for the night in the Safari Camping. Great rates, super friendly staff and great food (Saturday night is Mixed Grill night) We staying in a Gazebo with 2 big beds. The Showers/Bathrooms are immaculate, general food and drinks prices were super. Also they had a magician on for the children on the Saturday night!By staying at the Park, you can visit the Safari on Saturday, without worrying about traffic jams and then on the Sunday you can visit the Park area ... or even do the safari again!

Though it is quite difficult to get from Milan to Pombia, if you have a car and a reliable GPS it is definetly worth the trip. All the animals were in good condition, with plenty of food available and generous habitats. The grouns were weel kept, klean and facilities were available everywhere.A ticket for safari in my own car and a photo permit cost about 17 euros.I went out of season, in March, and I was lucky enough to have the almost entire park all to myself. All in all I loved that trip, I would gladly recommend it.
