Beautiful large park near to Prague. Very well maintained plants, pathways, water. The part next to castle is a park / botanical garden. The second part is larger, more forest than park, with larger lakes and rocks - is excellent for jogging. To get to the second part you need to cross a road which is since a year closed for cars due to renovation (lack of renovation) of a small bridge. Broad paths, less people, choice of running on flat or up/down hill paths. Bicycles are not allowed in park, although occasionally you meet bikers (they know they break the rules and give priority to runners). Dogs are allowed to walk on leash only, although you find many of them running free around owners (I believe they have much more fun than the owners). Fortunately most of the dogs are well trained, behaving properly and ignoring runners, or owners call them and hold them when runner is passing by. Overall very relaxing and safe place for jogging. You can meet roe deers, wild boar (I met it once - thanks God it was scared more than me), or rabbits. At main entrance (next to castle) you need to pay 50 CZK entrance fee. There are other gates that are you can open with electronic chip card (annual fee) and some gates that are totally open - this makes no sense to me. However recently they installed new gates (not yet in operations at end of 2014) that will require chip cards to enter/leave the park. Open gate or no gate doesn't mean you don't need to have an entrance ticket to enter the park.Parking - the main one at the castle is 30 CZK per hour. There is another parking (at the road between the two parts of the park) which is 50 CZK for whole day, if there is anyone to collect the fee. Very often nobody is there and parking is free for whole day. Perfect for those who visit the second, wilder part of the park.A must visit place while you are in Prague on weekend and want to escape from crowd and noise of city center. Strongly recommended.

The castle is scenic and adds beauty to this amazing park. Well marked trails enable you to select a short or long walk through the gardens. Immaculate and beautiful. Modest entry fee is well worth it. Main parking in town is cheaper by the hour than the side entrance. A nice find not far from Prague. Buses stop right across from the park entrance.

I think this is one of the loveliest parks I have visited ever .In the late autumn sunshine it shone in all its glory .It was a real joy walking around the park and the views of the castle is amazing just stunning ,the reflections of it on the lake were quite magical .The café was closed for "technical" reasons but plenty of places to get refreshment nearby.the 50kc entrance fee is a real bargain.

The park is nice but everything there is forbidden which sometimes might be nice ( smoking is forbidden which is very unusual in CR) The entrance to the park is paid 50 CZK. It's a fantastic place to take photos and it's a pity it's not that well known ;)

There was a time when nobles had a vision for very good initiatives and thatwas the case for the family Silva-Tourouca. They (or he, Arnost) have realised a temple of love for the nature, the best they could gave to future generations and not for on their own an only profit.I was really touched by what I saw, smell and felt when I looked around me.This is truly an heritage for the coming generations, where parents can learn their children to respect and even admire what a peacefull worldmeans. Thanks to those who create and their followers who protected thiseverlasting vieuw...

I was here at end of august , beautiful sunny day. There is a magnificent castle and a big and wild wood where you can walk for hours and hours. Take a map or you will get lost.....good luck !!! You are at 30 min. from Prague but you will feel like in a wild wood

If you spend any decent amount of time in Prague, just like any big city, you'll want to occasionally get away from the hustle, even though Prague is good compared to most big cities. My friend took me to this park on the weekend as a sort of getaway. While I think having to pay to enter a park is a bit ridiculous, this was worth it in the end.The park is huge, beautiful, and has a cool castle to check out. This was such a nice and relaxing day, the lake is nice, the leaves were just changing, and we had a fantastic day just...walking, talking, relaxing. I'll be back here again!

Just 20 minutes from the center of Prague you will find this emense cultivated park with creeks, lakes and paths. You can easily spend hours there walking and enjoying the nature. what we missed was a place to have a drink or coffee, there is just one at the entrance.

Anytime you are in Prague and need to get out, this is the place to go. Beatiful park is divided into 2 section. The front (castle) section of the park is more like a botanical garden. It is great for walking your dog or for a walk with stroller. The back side (separate parking outside Průhonice) is more wild, with much less visitors and great lakes. See web site of the park for more information. Make sure to get a map if you can, the place is huge and we get lost sometimes (fun!)The park is about 15-20 minute drive from Prague, in the direction of Brno. It is also accesible by public trasport, buses 385 from Opatov Subway stop or 363 Háje Subway stop on C (red) line. It takes about 40 minutes by subway/bus to reach the park.

A beautiful botanic park with lots of plant species and small lakes. You can stay a whole day and you will enjoy a peaceful atmosphere every minute. There are electronic advisors in the park that try to explain how complicated is to make such a gorgeous park.

We have only visited the park, not the castle. It is a very large park. I would not call it wild, but it is also not the typical highly maintained castle garden. So we had the comfort of pushing a baby stroller around and at the same time enjoyed the beauty of nature: a lake surrounded by a forest with old thick trees, different types of water or riverside plants, lots of romantic sights and corners as well as wooden bridges and small waterfalls. The map which was given to us at the ticket office offered three different routes, with two toddlers we took the short one - about 2.5h, including half an hour for a picnic lunch. Had a perfect morning. Nearby the castle there are lots of restaurants and cafes, some have kids corner.

I was in this park just few months ago and it was charming. Park is so romantic with many lakes, small paths and amazing views. I really loved it!

The castle with the vast garden is not far from Prague, you can easily reach it by public transport. Perfect for a hike or stroll on a sunny day with lots of paths to take you to various parts of the park. In spring there are rhododendrons and an alpine garden in full blossom. There are lots of old trees and a meandring river giving you scenec views. On a sunny day like today there are masses of people enjoying a day off, however the place is not noisy. Lots of benches to sit down and enjoy beatiful views.
