This historic cave was used to hide a stash of local wines during WWII from the Nazis. It is very trendy as far as its use today as a large wine tasting room for local wineries. The drive through the surrounding area was well worth the end result.

Dear Ruben, We have read your comments carefully and we believe that you made a series of observations which we largely agree with. We'll do our best to make sure that doesn't happen again. We hope to see you soon in our caves. Sincerely.

In an 800 plus old quarries you'll find a large outlet for the local Cremant sparkling wine at very reasonable prices and as a bonus you may join a guided tour of 600 meters into the old cave that are used as storage room today due to stable temperatures (13 C) and humidity. We took the tour and was guided in French, German and English. A pleasant experience!

We visited whilst cruising on the Nivernais Canal. It was a hot day so escaping into the cool caves was bliss. We took the tour which was interesting and learned about making bubbles, some of which was new to us. Also found it interesting that there is some history of occupation of the caves during the second world war. Although our tour was officially in French, our guide translated for us. The wines were delightful, the brut appealing to our taste. Needles to say we bought some to enjoy back on our boat.

Interesting visit to the caves; we took the tour to visit the caves; impressive, only the tour was limited to the stocks of bottles and the turning process; all the rest we couldn't see.

We didn't go on the tour of this cave but just going there was interesting enough. You drive in through a tunnel and then taste right off the parking lot. The wines were good -- we bought 2 whites. It was a welcome experience after some of the more expensive cave tours we had. I will admit that we both speak fluent French so that did help make this simpler.

Amazingly spectacular entrance and a wide choice of bubbly, fizzy wines. You basically loose track of time while in there.
