You can see a lots of Flamingos, they are very close to you , it is perfect to take a beautiful pictures of them as they are not afraid. I think it is a place to go when you are in Camargue.There are the tables for picnic so it is nice to have your meal and watch all those wonderful birds at the same time.We have been there in February so there was no mosquitos.

You can spend 2 hours watching flamings and other birds in their natural habitat. Birds got used to visitors and are easy to catch on camera. Go there before sunset. The beautiful landscapes you pass when driving the only road are worth stopping for a while.

After working hard to get shots of the flamingos 'in the wild', we discovered this place, where you can see hundreds of birds of many species up close. This is a fabulous place for overseas visitors to see new flora and fauna. It is an easy drive from Arles, and also on the bus route, and provides lovely areas for walking, taking photos and picnicking.

Wonderful walk on trails that meander around ponds. Tons of bird watching, including pink flamingoes during the right season. We spent a couple hours there as we also had other plans. But it would be easy to spend a full day there if you like watching birds.

When visiting the Camargue a visit here is a must. It was a privilege to see the flamingos which for us was the highlight. Fascinating. We did not do the complete the overall walk (around 2 hours) however enjoyed seeing other birds and a welcome cup of coffee at the cafe.We didn't take advantage however the ticket allowed you to return to the Park later in the day/early evening.

We took the shorter route because of recently broken leg and weren't disappointed. We saw an amazing amount of wildlife - flamingoes, coypu, herons eating fish, flamingoes feeding babies, egrets, storks and weird catfish that swam on the top of the water. The park was well organised and the footing was good.

We were not on horseback, so we cannot compare, but it is hard to believe you can see flamingo's better on horseback than in this park.Perhaps on a hot day the beach can have a stronger pull, but this is a must see attraction in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer.

Very interesting well structured and comprehensive bird watching park close to Saintes Maries de la Mer. I have been several times and every time I find it amazing in terms of quantity and quality of animals which can be seen in the park both in the shorter tour (good also with children) and in the longer one (more for teenagers and adults). Worthwhile visiting at different times of the day and especially at sunset.

We went for the flamengo's and we saw them. Impressive.In principle two rounds can be walked in the parc. The small round (#1-10) was best.

There is a small fee for this park but well worth it. And worth the drive. This has about 7km of trails, well marked and wide, for you to wander and photograph or watch the birds in their natural habitat. I didn't see any cages (except in the office or main building). You can spend as much or as little time as you want. There are platforms that extend out over the water in some places. It is a delightful place to visit. The trails are wide enough and firm enough for wheelchair access. There are some nice toilets for your convenience as well. We saw so many flamingos in their natural habitat. Note that flamingos only occur in this area of Europe and no where else. Some people said they saw some of the white horses but I didn't see any.

Wow we saw Flamingos and we didn't think we would. Lovely place to walk around, bit of road noise and we didn't see any other animals however we only did the 2.6km walk so we may have seen other animals on the large walk. If you are in the area pay the €7 each and see the Flamingos we loved it.

This park was on my list of things to do in the Camargue. We arrived between 10 - 11.00 am and we were just in time to see the feeding of the different lakes. We were amazed at how fast we were able to see close up so many different animals: herons, a beaver (yes!), all sorts of ducks, ibisses and of course the beatiful flamingo's. The park has a small and larger trail. The smaller trail was about 3 kms and very easy with my 7 year old son. He loved seeing so many animals. We were able to end the visit at the beginning of the midday heat and had a drink at the bar (prices are affordable). I think this is a great park, but please go earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon to not get the full midday heat (do birds also do their midday nap?).

I visited the Parc Ornithologique back in April with my 22-month old daughter while we were traveling around the south of France. I was shocked to see such a dense and diverse population of birds, and the horses that we saw were also wonderful. The trails were quite easy to navigate. We stayed for several hours and got some great photos. There is a small cafe there, which was helpful when my daughter needed a drink. If I am back in the area, I will definitely go back.

The park is a nice way to see a large group of flamingo's up close. And you can make a long walk here. I can't say I was impressed by the scenery. Btw, the toilets are green toilets (a (normal) toilet where everything falls in a hole to decompose. So it is quite smelly.

One of the best place to see wildlife up close and take lots of pictures. There are 2 trails that start from the same area so you can choose one or the other or take both. The first one offers better views on the flamingos, herons, etc. The second is more remote and less popular as birds were not as present during our visit. However, plse keep in mind that wildlife are free to move around in the park so my experience may be different from yours.The park has also a place to sit and enjoy a drink while admiring the wildlife around.
