I went there on a Wednesday afternoon, off-season. There was absolutely no queue. There is a big variety of fish, but the tanks are a bit small. The shark-tunnel offers impressive views - kids are fascinated. There are seals and sea-lions too, but their pond is a bit small. The information is in French and in English. Not the nicest aquarium in the world - especially for the animals - but not the most expensive either.

We visited this place after a trip to the beach from Provence. The beach was windy and not that enjoyable so I used tripadvisor to see what else was near. It was a great relief to get out of the wind and this place is amazing!! Excellent displays, wonderful interactive displays for the kids, clean, well maintained and very extensive. All displays in French and English which really helps your understanding of all the displays. Loved everything about it as did the kids. Could easily spend half a day here. Would thoroughly recommend for a family day out. Very reasonably priced too for what you get.

Went with our 2yr old. She was amazed by all the fishes, turtles and sharks. They have species that I've never seen and i found out the visit really enjoyable. It took us 1h30 but more can be spent by reading all the information.

Doctors differ and patients die. Okay. That's a bit dramatic. Maybe a better discription is 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder.' To me, a 57 year old guy who has been about a bit this was a fairly routine aquarium. Lots of fish and molluscs and so forth. Well laid out. Not overly expensive. Relatively easy to find. Great car parking. On the other hand, my 24 year old daughter thought the place simply 'rocked'. I will relent and agree with her in one respect....the one respect that lifted Seaquarium above the other aquariums that I have visited. And that is Shark Alley. This is a large, very large, tank with several sharks in it. But here's the kicker. There is a tunnel that runs through and under the main tank so that the sharks are above and around the visiting walker as she/he ambles through the tunnel. And I guess that IS 'cool' and that it DOES 'rock'. Because they are not small sharks. They are huge, fully grown, 7-8 feet long sharks. There is also an outdoor seal pool at which one can get pretty close to these animals. In another very large tank there is a fine display of several different types of sharks and rays. It's well worth taking a break in the visit here to simply sit and watch. There is also a full sized set of Megladon jaws which everyone ( including yours truly ) has their photo taken beside.So. Is it worth the trip? Yea. Undoubtedly. If for nothing else than Shark Alley. But I wouldn't give it more than a morning. On the other hand, I'm guessing that youngsters will think it simply 'rocks'!

This aquarium is still one of my favorites. It includes pool with seals and sea lions, lot of tanks with Mediterranean and tropical fishes, underwater tunnel, the walkaways with very good view on sharks and sea turtles. There are interactive games and children’s area, but it is a lot of fun for the whole family. The entrance fee is 13,50 euros for adults.

One of my favorite aquariums and I admit I didn't expect it. It has a far more extensive range of species than many known aquariums around the world that may look flashier and more modern than this one.

Clean is good. Most aquariums have tanks full of green water, sickly animals, and garbage thrown in to remind us to be green. Not an exciting place, but the exhibits are nice. It has a shark tunnel, and jellyfish tanks.

We had been visiting diferent aquariums, but this will stay as one of my favourites. The instalation is older but in a very good shape. You can see also the first under water tunel of Europe. Of course he is maybe not so spectacular or long. But Inloved it. There was also a huge turtle swimming around. A girl will explain at certain moments everything about the diferent tupes of sharks, and she will answer every question you have. The place of the seals is not big, and there is no show, but you can see them when they are fed. At the end we spend about 2h30 in there, and my daughter of 12 was really enjoying it all. Lovely place, and there is also a lift, so everybody can visit every plant even with a whee chair or a buggy.

This is a well laid out aquarium with plenty of small tanks with some fascinating local (Mediterranean) species. There is also a large shark tank with an underwater tunnel. There is a display with sea-lions and some hands in the water tanks for younger children.Well worth a visit.

Great day out for the kids, especially if rainy! Ours loved the sharks and seals (we caught them sleeping, very cute). The seaquarium is a good size for small children and doesn't overwhelm them with too much to see and do. If you loved this, go to the Aquarium in Montpellier as well!

This was our second visit - and as impressive as the last. Our son is a sealife fanatic, so we always try to find places like this to visit. We went before the Easter holidays, and it was quiet late morning/lunchtime, but a large noisy school group descended as we were leaving so plan accordingly! The aquarium tanks are well laid out and make for some great exhibits, including a large array of shark species. In many ways, the whole place is quite unassuming and low-key, but it is a very pleasant way to pass a few hours. The huge underwater tank with the seals is really impressive. We had an amazing experience with one seal who came right up to the glass and played with us, performing aquabatics to match our hand gestures. The education area near the exit had a pretty good computer quest game to highlight the plight of the Mediterranean Monk Seal - fun and educational.Well worth a visit. It is a cut above many other aquariums we have visited around the world in much larger cities than La Grau! I was surprised that this is the first review in English - it deserves more attention.
