KUMU is a great art gallery and the overall feel of the museum is wonderful. The building itself is full of light and is incredibly beautiful. Wandering through the exhibits is a great way to learn more about Estonia and see some fantastic artwork. The newest collection, Surm & Ilu (Death & Beauty) is extremely dark and gothic and definitely not for kids. However, it's a great, compact exhibit of modern gothic art.I love this place and would highly recommend that people check it out!

Fantastic building and great displays of both modern and historic Estonian art.Well worth visiting.

The Kumu museum is located in a beautiful area of Tallinn, a short taxi/bus ride or pleasant walk away from the centre. It features interchanging and permanent collections; of the permanent ones the most interesting was the collection of Estonian art from the time of the Soviet regime, with its explanations about soviet realism.

I visit every year hundreds of museums and art studios ,open air theatres ,all across Europe I look I review ,and I see what help disabled people can get from each attraction , I liked the look of the building for me it was everything I like about a modern building ,step inside and really I have never meet so poorly trained rude staff members ,one lady clearly looked at my hearing aids held her hand over her mouth laughed and ignored me ,I asked two staff members for help ,but was brushed aside by both people ,I left after less than ten minutes , and will be contacting the Estonian tourism ,to ask them why staff in this attraction are so rude to disabled customers .

the museum has interesting paintings, but don't expect anything more!the security forces people to leave the jacket, bag and bottle of water in a box!the women talk instead of working and the men are rude!there's a small shop, but nothing worthy to buy...i think the museum may be improved by hiring professional people who are polite and by selling interesting things!

The architecture is very inspiring and the art is well chosen- I´m sure the budget isn´t the largest possible- very good choices and well worth seeing. We really enjoyed our visit and would recommend this museum to others. It is small but it is well designed and interesting. The park around the museum is wonderful in the spring.

When you are tired of drinking in old town it's time to go and enjoy Kumu arts museum - very nice collections, especially we enjoyed beg. of XX century dresses collection from all around the world.

The structure of the building itself was part of the attraction of this museum. It is a 7 story structure of limestone, glass and copper. You could spend the entire day at the museum because it is quite large and has both old and modern paintings and sculptures.

Anyone with an interest in the visual arts or architecture needs to put this on their list. The modern building is a triumph both in its cutting edge design, and the choice and quality of the materials chosen.I enjoyed particularly the area concentrating on art during the Soviet times. In each gallery there's a flyer giving an overall introduction to the works available for viewing. The top floor showed very contemporary works, not necessarily my interest. A delight for me was a temporary exhibition of women's Art Deco clothing. It was superbly displayed and was bringing in a considerable viewing audience. The cafe was well pstronised although I did noteeat there. An excellent overview of Estonia visual history.

Appomixately 30 minutes walk from Viru plats, or few minutes by bur or tram + 5 minutes walk. Modern, yet relatively good looking building. Includes Estonian and Baltic art from 18th to 20th century. Also contemporary art exhibition. Exhibitions were mostly interesting, though I didn't feel any artistic peak experiences.

Great rooms, interesting local art.Top floor, modern art was very disappointing, really nothing there. Come on Mr Director, there must be artists today making stuff...Dont just put silly videos in 3 or 4 places.

Having experienced visits to galleries in NYC, Paris, London, Amsterdam, Dallas , Toronto etc, this National Gallery is a treasure. The current exhibits are breathtaking ( fashion in the 1920's). Slowly walking through the galleries and appreciating the quality is simply therapeutic . Even the gift shop is a treasure rather than a rip off ! We simply did not want to leave. But we did, only to find no charge for checking our coats. Wow !

We spent the morning at the Kumu Art Museum on a snowy day in Tallinn and we thought the museum was done up real well. A lot of good Estonian art from different time periods and the museum is laid out in a nice manner where its easy to navigate. There is a café on sight that serves food and drinks as well. Overall the Kumu Art Museum is a worthy attraction to stop off at if you have time.

Highly recommend to visit this very nice looking modern building. You will find inside some nice selection of Estonian Arts as well as sometimes excellent temporary exhibitions
