The castle was destroyed I the II. World war, so the building we see its a reconstruction. The rooms and the staircases reflects to the medieval castle of the knights. You can also see a very interesting heating system, using the warm air to heat the upper floors. There is some permanent exhibitions on the Swedish and Russian battles for the fortress as well as on the life of the knights. On the upper floors there are some temporary exhibitions. On the top floor you can get out to the parapet and have a beautiful view to the city.

Good place, well maintained. view to the river and across the border is awesome. We visitied during a marathon event, so there were lots of activities and shops.

Great place to go to for different kinds of exepebitons. last time i was there, people were showing blacksmith skills and local cultural foods. Alot of free and tasty food :)

This is definitely the #1 site in Narva, although let's face it - there is not a great deal of competition! But combined with a walk around the various battlements, this makes for a very interesting couple of hours. Terrific views of Russia from the top of the tower!

this castle is worth coming to Narva for. It has been reconstructed very well. We enjoyed visiting the craft shops and seeing the way life was back in the castles prime. The exhibitions were interesting. We lived the views from the top. Good priced souvineirs from the castle shop. It is open until 6pm which was good for us.

Our only unfortunate experience at the Narva Castle was our timing. We just happened to arrive as hundreds of bikers descended on the place for the weekend. Good grief! They were everywhere! They took over the courtyard of the castle so you really could not get any good pictures there unless you wanted a huge sound stage, hundreds of tents and plenty of beer stands. The music was pounding, to say the least.Back to the castle. We headed right for the "edge" where we could look across to Ivanograd. The view of the Russian castle is just gorgeous. Right across the "moat" below, we also could see people sunbathing and a photographer taking pictures of a couple right at the water. I was mesmerized. Narva is mostly a Russian population, we were visiting friends there who are all dual citizens and live in Narva, Estonia. One young man is studying to be an English teacher but does not desire to stay in his city. I can see why...to me it is so far from anything and probably not much else to do.You can go inside the castle and see all of the exhibitions, it was definitely cooler in there! An unusually hot day when we were there.We did not eat here in the restaurant, we ate at Old Trafford which was very good!!

This is an old fortress with a wonderful view from the upper Gallery to the Russian Ivangorod Fortress. Through its displays, you can know a history of the fortress. We had lunch in the adjacent restaurant. While the food looked good, it was tasteless. Come for the castle, not for the food.

I was impressed by exhibition dedicated to chimney-sweeps of old town. Visiting this exhibition you can take a closer look at work of chimney-sweeps and also look into pipe of the Old Town.

My wife and I caught the bus from Tallin bus station to Narva. It was very cheap and allowed us to see something of the Estonian countryside (lots of trees!). Narva is almost totally made up of ethnic Russians. There are two castles facing each other across the Narva River -the Swedish castle which includes Hermans Tower facing the Russian one in Ivanograd. This is unique in my experience. You can see Russians sunbathing on the opposite River bank.There is a splendid Lion Memorial nearby donated by the Swedish Government to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the battle of Narva. Hermans Tower houses a very good museum with both a painting and death mask of Peter the Great. The grounds have a selection of craft shops which were staffed by very charming students. There was a wedding taking place while we visited -what a lovely setting.We dined in the extensive restaurant inside the walls which was great value with lovely service. Overall a most unique experience.

Да,место уникальное- на расстоянии полёта стрелы ,через реку ,стоит русская крепость .По-моему в Европе подобного не встречается...Стены,бастионы,музей и "Северный дворик" с мастеровыми.(Музей и дворик -платный вход) ,но.. пожалуй это и всё.Полазили с детьми по стенам,посмотрели экспозицию(если честно,интерес представляют два зала )и всё... байк-фестиваль-раз в году(мероприятие на любителя),летом и осенью - доставляют "реконы"(воины Петра 1 и Карла 12),но только два раза в год. Считаю у крепости и замка огромный потенциал,который на данный момент не задействован,увы... Вобщем походить-"посельфиться" на фоне древних стен.

Идеальное место для туризма, уникальное своим месторасположением. Два замка - напротив друг друга разделенные лишь рекой. Сохраненное великолепие мощи средневековости.Ристалище,внутренний дворик,бастионы,кузнечное подворье,ткацкие лавки, - а какой вид на вершине башни Германа....на которую ведут узкие каменные винтовые лестницы.На это стоит посмотреть, ощутить дух времени, остановившийся в этом месте. Шикарные экспозиции, коллекции доспехов и оружия,гражданских костюмов и военной формы.Никто не останется равнодушным.Каждый найдет для себя что то интересное.Рекомендую как для пар - так и для семейного посещения.

Fästningen är byggd i kalksten och har reparerats åtskilliga gånger ! Det finns mängder av olika gångar att vandra i på slottet och det är inte bara jag som kommit fel ! & våningar med utsikt över städerna Narva och på andra sidan Narvafloden ligger Ivangorod stad ( inte sevärd ) !! Just att floden delar två fästningar i två länder gör platsen UNIK i världen ! Jag har besökt fästningen ett 30 tal gånger och Museeavdelningarna är alltid sevärda ! I en av salarna visas "slaget i Narva" år 1700 med fanor från Sverige och Ryssland. Varje år har man ett skådespel på borggården på senhösten vilket skall påminna om ett gammalt slag... roligt var det iallafall att med ett par kompisar från Sverige, få bevittna det skådespelet !

Мне нравится...особо роскоши нет,но внутри очень даже интересно-вход платный.Летом проводятся различные мероприятия(дни города,байк фест и т.д.)Рекамендую особенно летом.

Нарвский замок - это, поистине, уникальное место, где можно увидеть слияние веков. Высокие, вертикальные стены раннего средневековья очень интересно сочетаются с укреплениями более позднего периода. Эпохи развития артиллерии. Напротив замка, через реку, с Российской стороны реки, высится Ивангородская крепость. Это единственное место в мире, где можно видеть две враждебные крепости так близко друг к другу.Кроме этого, в замке есть небольшой, но интересный музей, где представлены экспонаты от эпохи средневековья до работ современных художников, которые не всегда портят экспозицию.Территория практически не приспособлена для посещения людьми с ограниченными возможностями.

Были в январе, немного холодновато, а крепость прикольная даже зимой. Вход во внутрь платный. Крепость напротив в Ивангороде кажеться будет побольше.
