I went to parnu from Talinn. We took a bus to reach there. On the way from Bus station to beach we came across a performance of Red Indians ....loved the music. Parnu is really nice beach. we didn't do any water sports but totally enjoyed our time in sun !

After the magical wonderland that is the fine old city of Riga, it was time to hit some countryside, taking the rather posh coach up the coastal road upto Parnu, into Estonia. I had expected to of seen something of the Baltic Sea, on the 2.5 hour journey, but it wasn`t to be, just a hell of alot of forest. The dismal grey overcast cloud meant the daylight was more like a perpetual dusk for several hours. On arrival in Parnu, the rain came but only in a half-hearted fashion, as if the weather gods themselves were bored of all this dullness. Found the abode for the 4 nights stay ok, a cosy pad, just a few stones throws away from the beach. I wondered why I couldn`t hear the sound of the waves of the Baltic, been so close. The next morning I was to find out why! The sea was frozen over?? I`ll be damned. Where the forming brine should of been there was a jumble of ice sheets, the only wet stuff was the water seeping out of the sand as it came away from the land. OOoo it was cold, blue I was, I had my big coat on but still cold. I realised what I thought was an odd sight, crows bobbing on the sea, were in fact crows walking their stuff on the ice sheet!I did a shuffle along the promenade for an hour until I could bare the cold no more, when yesterdays order for a bit of sunshine was realised, it was quite a shock seeing this strange orb on the western horizon, parting the dark, dinghy cloud for a whole 2 hours, not very warm poor chap but boy the brightness was very dazzling and the blue sky just wonderful, thanks sungod.

Great beach (like many in Estonia) with loads of water- and beach- sports on offer, good kite surfing - not to mention the Elephant!! Nice, warm, shallow water in the summer.

This is the closest thing that you can get to beach in Estonia. It has all of the activities: beach volleyball, walkways, restaurants and children friendly shallow water. The Estonian summer is short, so you will always see people regardless of the temperature.

Estonia is a beautiful country. We had a short while at Parnu beach. It is an open beach with the water a long way out. Plenty of sand and play areas on the beach for children. I am glad I went ,as Estonia is a beautiful part of the world. I guess it is a little back to nature, which is to their credit. We do not always want high rise and huge bill boards. Enjoy the moment, I always think.

If the evening is nice and warm - promenade can be a nice place for a walk! Many locals and tourists find this place as a catwalk stage :)

This is a nice beach location, warm water, lots of sand, nice restaurants along the beach. A great place to spend the day with family and friends forgetting about day-to-day life.

The promenade follows the beach past the Ranna Hotel and ends further along at Tervise Paradiis. Beautifully done. A nice walk next to the sea without getting sand in your shoes.

Lots of people, good temperature, many different places to dine catering for different tastes and a very orange-salmon-pink sunset which made it a delicious walk.

What a great beach. Like someone said, it´s not very famous outside Estonia, and it will never be. But is a very beautiful beach, And if you are in Estonia in the Summer, i will recommend this place to spend an afternoon.

Parnu beach is never going to be in the top 100 in the world. But is one of the few decent beaches in the Batics. It is well loved by Estonians, soft sand, shallow so great for the kids and families. The Main Street running parallel to the beach has many restaurants, shops and bars. Proud of its history as a Heath resort and spa with mud baths, there is even a museum.Well worth a visit and in the summer, perhaps a few days.

this bay has a slowly descending beach, meaning it's ideal for childeren (and adults) and the water is lovely (and not salty). the main beach if for families. to the right is the ladies only (nudist) beach and beyond that the unofficial gay beach. Pärnu is a nice place to be in and the beach area is kept very clean.

The beach is excellent in the context of Scandinavia-Baltic region. Sand is white and fine. Sea is shallow and excellent for families but poor for hc swimmers. There are some activities on the beach; bars, water equipment rental (no jetskis etc.) and beach volley. Buildings are beautiful representing functionalism. Toilets and showers are free. Best time to get a spot on the beach is well before noon.

As Estonia's favourite beach,it is a bit sad, however, I am Australian and we are a bit spoilt when it comes to beaches.aathere are dressing cubicles and play activities for kids. Also a "ladies nude beach"
