Despite the year of creating, this architecture and, especially, interior seems interesting to me. Nice looking lighting at the night (both from in- and out-side), interesting balconies.

We had the wonderful opportunity to catch a opera piece here...it was wonderful..subtitles were there to help understand the play..however book in advance..tickets are not expensive.. English is a problem as Lithuanians usually do not understand the language

Architecturally the exterior is less that inspiring - it looks like a typical soviet build. But that is not the reason for visiting. Go for a performance. We saw the Barber of Seville & it was very good, albeit not up to Covent Garden standards (but where is?). We had good stalls seats for €18 - unbeatable. Bar prices also incredibly cheap

We attend performances here regularly and we are seldom disappointed. Wonderful decor, generous seating with plenty of leg room and wide ranging performances. The Nutcracker this weekend was a reak success. Check the programmes and go, you will not be disappointed.

Don't miss the opportunity to listen good music after busy day in the city during opera season from September to July. Enjoy impressive construction of the theatre and interior with stunning chandeliers built in 1974. Order a cup of traditional hot chocolate (warm thick mixture of real chocolate) or glass of cognac during the entr'acte in one of the few theatre bars. For the tickets visit opera.lt or ticket office in the Theatre.

Lietuvos Nacionalinis operos ir baleto teatras is a must visit place in Vilnius. Lithuanians are known for their excellent performances worldwide. Come and see national ballet "Barbora Radvilaitė" or classical opera "Karmen". You won't be disappointed!

We went to a ballet about Lithuanian composer and artist Ciurlionis. It was a very high quality production and wonderful to share it with a great mix of locals - a much more varied audience than you'd get at a ballet in the UK. Sensibly, they start at 6.30 and are finished by 8.30 leaving time for a delicious dinner afterwards.

The opera house is beautiful inside with a lot of wood details. We heard a performance of "Otello", sung inItalian but with English surtitles which made it just as if in the Met-disliked that there were no elevators and many stairs!

I think that this theatre has a good programme. We loved the concert by the Israeli Philarmonic Orchestra conducted by Zubin Mehta with participation of Violeta Urmana!

We organised tickets for the Carmen Ballet before we left Australia. the booking service required European Credit Cards so I wrote to the box office and they happily reserved our tickets which we picked up a few hours before. Price was good - 60 litas per person _ prices varied but are able to choose seats from their Website. Performance of Carmen was very professional- great modern twist to a story written over 300 years ago!

What an excellent building. Went to a Ballet which was fantastic. If you just want to experience the whole concept, get your last minute seat at the reception desk at the theatre. Excellent value for money.

Been to this venue a few times to attend the opera and had a great time. The building is lovely and the shows are great and has so much old school class. Also the pre-show/intermission area for food and drinks is great. I mean really, who wants to watch opera without a couple drinks in them. Love it here.

We had not pre booked but called to the opera house at lunchtime and got tickets to see La Boheme. It was wonderful and we really the performance as the soprano was superb. We had champagne and canapés before the opera and also during the interval. Such a treat. This is a modern building, not looking great from the outside but inside the auditorium, it is very nice. Tickets were really reasonable, approx. 20 euro each.

A beautiful building for a wonderful ballet company. A magical evening. Recommended for ballet lovers and ballet novices!
