Got the cable car to the top of Mount Tampa. Reasonably priced cable car for the 2min 20s journey with amazing views across Brasov (albeit terrifyingly high). There is a cafe at the top of the mountain for a stop before trekking the hours trip down.

Tampa is one of Brasov's icons. It's just like LA's Hollywood sign. From above, you're seeing the whole city which can be very beautiful during the winter. Definitely a place to visit in Brasov.

You can get the cable car up the mountain or just walk it, either way its pretty cool getting up behind the giant Brasov sign and taking a glance at the town below, its a nice walk up through the mountain forest if you like to just go for a walk. Just be careful as there are no railings next to the Brasov sign and the path is uneven. I wouldn't fancy the drop!

To get here, you could use cable car or hike but I prefer hike because it just take 1 hour to the top, and all your effort will be worth it once you are on the top. You could see Brasov from here its like you have Brasov in your eyes. Brasov looks very beautiful. Its better in the morning or nearly sunset. Its really great!

We waited until a clear day to go up and see the beautiful views of Brasov from the adjacent Tampa mountain. You can walk if you're into that sort of thing, but we grabbed a cable car both ways. The views were brilliant and we were blessed with a really warm day, despite the time of year. I don't think this would be as amazing without the weather as you wouldn't get the view. Also, with the good weather, they do a BBQ with beer, wine, soft drinks all outside when you get to the top, which is lovely. You can wander around when you get off the cable car. We went to see the 'Hollywood sign' and then climbed to the peak which has details of the old fort/viewing station that historically sat on that spot. To get to the cable car place you have to pass the old wall fortifications of Brasov which are also definitely worth a look.

Climbed Tampa for the hundred time! I always find it attractive, peaceful, interesting. I went together with my son and he enjoyed the trip very much. We'll do it again on the springs

When staying in Brasov for the night, wake up early and take a short hike up Mount Tampa. It's fun to see a different view of the Brasov sign and to take photos from the viewing platform (plus it's free!). Often times, you will find someone selling berries up top. Another option would be taking a bottle of wine to the top and watching the sunset - I've never done it, but always wanted to!

After visiting Poiana Brasov sky station, you can stop 2 minutes in the mount tampa to appreciatte the wonderful Brasov view. In the end of the afternoon and in the winter time the view is better.

We enjoyed a day off from sightseeing with a stroll on the Tampa mountain. There is a cable car for the less adventurous. I woulds recommend taking a picnic lunch and a rain coat just to be sure.

it is special also if you see it at night. it is like thousands of fireflies are down there. and I find it very romantic also. if you get there, spend a couple of minutes to admire the view

Very close to the city centre there is a cable car taking tourists up to the Tampa height. It was nice to walk up and down (about 1 1/2 hours) , and the view of the city is stunning, only wish there was a restaurant or a cafe on top for some refreshments. at the bottom of the cable there is a very nice restaurant though where we had nice bear and deer (they have also other dishes). Overall, a nice experience to combine a bit of mountain experience with the city one.

Take the cable car up, although you can walk up and down if you are up to it, for amazing views over the old town and surrounding countryside. Wear suitable shoes as health and safety has not made it up there yet which is not a bad thing just beware uneven paths and not many barriers. Follow the path along to the Brasov sign for a small viewing area.

Take the Tampa cable car (16 Romanian Leu) to the peak for the best view of the old town. You must climb the stairs to reach the cable car station.

Bought cable car tickets for return trip but after reaching the top and wandering around the snow, I decided to trek down. Very interesting experience, definitely for people who wants to have some alone time in the cold. The routes were well signed so it's unlikely you'll get lost. Visit it in winter!

i choose to walk the road till up, very long, but the view was well worth it, went there in the summer. i liked the "Brasov" sign, just like that of "Hollywood", nice idea.
