We went on a Saturday in a group of 12 for a meal, the meal was totally delicious, the steaks were cooked perfect the portions were large, I would say 1 bowl of chips between two was plenty and we would be big eaters, the desserts were large as well and very tasty, the presentation was fantastic, my only problem tonight was the staff were slow to take our orders and it took quite a while to get them, the staff themselves were very pleasant as was the Manager, overall we most certainly will be back. This was our first time here but it won't be the last.

We stayed here in the loft self catering accommodation. It was the nicest wee spot, staff all very friendly, the loft was cosy & had all u need for self catering. Had great entertainment in the bar following a fantastic meal in the restaurant. Steak cooked to perfection. Will definately be back. The only disadvantage was there is no mobile signal or wifi. But The added bonus was the Craic on the small farm on site. Love this place. Catherine

Had a meal here with my wife and two year old son. The staff were all very friendly and made our little man extra welcome. The food was top class, steak ordered medium rare and was excellent, succulent and juicy. Very reasonably priced and kids meal came with free ice lolly, small touch but nice.We were lucky enough to meet santa in shiels that evening in a lovely setting and very good he was too. A little gem with nice food and beer in a tranquil countryside by a river, top class and will be back.

Visiting friends in the Armagh area and thought we'd check this place for food. The setting is perfect, a proper Irish country pub set beside a river. We were in the forge restaurant and it's dark and comfortable, really nice atmosphere. There were four of us, and immediately we were told of various selections no longer on the menu. Disappointing but not a big deal. But it was the wait that really annoyed us, and it's not as if it was that busy. We didn't stay here so can't comment on the rooms. Nice place, lovely setting, just a shame about the time spent waiting for the food and the poor service.

Staying up in Dundrum House and drove past this spot on the way. Came down for a drink and ended up staying for some delicious food too.Paul was a delightful host showing me all the animals out the back - a real treat. Great spot - would certainly recommend and if we're ever back in the area we'll certainly call in again. Many thanks

I recently dined in Sheils restaurant for a large family function and I can honestly say it was such an enjoyable experience. From the point of ringing up to book to paying the staff were so helpful and friendly, and they were able to accommodate all of our needs with no hesitation! The food was plentiful, well presented & very tasty! The new cocktail menu on offer was amazing with Paul (cocktail maker) being an absolute gentleman and making minor adjustments when needed!! Would definitely come again and would recommend it to everyone!

We were a large group booked into Sheils for good and drink as part of a hen, the food was very tasty and well presented. We all had cocktails from the very extensive cocktail list which were amazing which were also very well presented. The staff were amazing, very attentive and friendly nothing was too much trouble. I would like to thank Paul, Mark and the staff for providing us with a great night.

We went to Basil Sheils restaurant for Sunday dinner. And had the loveliest meal in a very relaxing atmosphere with the family. We all ordered starters, main courses and desserts - which were all absolutely delicious and great value for money. We were expecting the restaurant to be the usual pub-grub, but it turned out to be one of the best restaurants we've been to in a long time. The menu had such a good range of choices - there was something to suit everyone in our group, and the staff were just lovely. Can't believe this little gem has been at the end of our road all along and we've only found it now. Perfect way to spend every sunday afternoon I think!

Not on any main drag or in any big city this pub was exactly what we looked for during our sojourn through out Ireland. Service was excellent, food wonderful with many great choices and the atmosphere made you want to just stay awhile - which we did.
